now I can't remember they guys name who caught Garnett with the two piece with a biscuit last season during the playoffs. It was a guy he used to play with.

Anthony Peeler?

I think it was Chris Andersen. He dunked on him and his croch landed in KG's face. KG's overrated. This is what happens when the league hands people stuff they haven't earned. It's why Lebron and Melo are gonna get annoying real fast. What's the harm in letting the players actually earn these accolades? Maybe KG would've gotten out of the first round sooner. God, sometimes I hate this league and KG is a major reason why...

Things can get testy in practice.I remember when Pete Myers was a Knick and used to piss off alot of his teamates and get into scraps because he played so physical.Like I said,I think there is more to the KG story then is being reported.

KG is da man, you don't embarrass him in practice especially from some mindless rookie from college.

Seriously...that is ouch. Hard lessons in the NBA...at least in Minny.

Maybe becuase it took him two All-Stars to squeak out of the first round.

I'll take Timmy Duncan over this loser any day.

I would take Duncan too but KG never had any help. He had Wally World. Duncan atleast had Tony Parker and Stephen Jackson!

And he had the Admiral to form that terror twin towers tandem. Duncan had plenty help. KG has been Da Man of his team for too many years and still is even with two aging all-stars on his team.

Oh, I totally disagree. He's been the main guy on his teams, but if he's so great, why do I feel like if he faced Duncan or Yao or Dirk in the playoffs with equal supporting casts, he'd lose? Who did they even beat this year? A busted Kings team and a green Nuggets team that lost Melo in the end? Come on! They had one of the easiest roads in the playoffs! And then they couldn't even put away what we all know was a WEAK Lakers team.

KG is a punk who talks a big game, but never seems to back it up. Sure, regular season stats are nice, but so is post season success. It took him 9 years just to get out of the first round? Jeez.

And he's had talent. Marbs and Googs. Terrell and Wally. Troy and Wally. Joe Smith and Rasho. I seem to remember everyone coveting Olowkandi. Ever notice how teammates seem to want to run out of Minny screaming? Think of Rasho, Googs, Marbs and others. The guy is overrated and has been handed the league by the NBA's marketing department because he's got street cred for some bizarre reason I will never understand. Win something big fella. Oh, and when was the last time a 7 footer as talented as he is claimed to be anything other than a center? Man up and get your elbows dirty, KG!

My favorite KG moment: 2003 playoffs against the Lakers, Twolves are up 2-1 and KG says, "if we come out and win the next one, the series is over." The comment is relayed to Kobe Bryant who raises his eyebrows and says, "That's a bold statement." Kobe goes out and destroys KG in the next game.

I don't like Kobe's personality, he's arrogant, but he's more of a superstar than KG will ever be.

Wow, I'm surprised by Garnett. We don't know the full story, but I thought he would never do something like that. How good is Rickert? Is he worth signing instead of Keon Clark?
he's a 6'10 outside shooter mostly. kinda soft, alah kvh, but skinnier and less ball handling.

"Apparently, the rookie wasn't supposed to score on the MVP."

kinda shallow on the journalists' part. funny how some words can be a bit deceptive, and sometimes it's just a writer being an A-hole.

If Clark didn't work out I'd love to sign this guy.

How about cutting Shandon Anderson and signing Clark and Rickert. Get two big men up front.

during pickup game
Attack by NBA MVP
reportedly is unprovoked
Kevin Garnett punched former University of Minnesota player Rick Rickert during a pickup basketball game.

Updated: 11:53 p.m. ET Aug. 31, 2004NBA most valuable player Kevin Garnett punched a former University of Minnesota player during a pickup game last week at Target Center, cutting the man's face and chipping his tooth.

Garnett punched Rick Rickert, a second-round draft pick of the Timberwolves last season, according to several sources with knowledge of the event. Seven stitches were required to close the cut on Rickert's chin, said Susan Rickert, the player's mother, during a phone interview yesterday.

Garnett's agent and a Timberwolves spokesman declined to comment.

According to a report in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Garnett's attack was unprovoked.

Rickert, 21, scored several times with the 6-foot-11 Garnett guarding him. Several other players began to "tease" Garnett about being outplayed, according to a source. When Rickert scored again, Garnett struck him without warning.

"Rick was surprised that Garnett reacted the way he did," said Rickert's agent, Mark Termini.

In November 2000, Garnett punched teammate Wally Szczerbiak in the head following an argument.

I too think there is more to it, but it ain't come out yet.

Garnett might just be a Boytch Diva and feels like he can do anything to anyone. At least he did not shoot the boy! OR slap his wife around, or shoot a car, or run over a meterMaid, or break his hand while his yacht was parked in the rough seas of Milwaukee harbor!

We have made these barely literate ball players the kings of society. When was the last time any told KG the word "NO"?

Too bad rickert was not able to get him back. Maybe without a gym full of cronies, he might have done that, and if he did, he might have gotten as ass whooping from him. Ain't nobody big enough to not deserve a whopping one or twice.

Think Spree was there? Nah, he is likely some where in La La land. Maybe if he leaves now he might make camp on time this year!

after reading that, it seems KG has a past history of being a primadonna...i originally felt sorry for him when he got sucker punched last year in the playoffs by Anthony Peeler, but now i'm glad he got a taste of his own medicine.

During the playoffs, after KG was voted MVP, some reporter was in the locker room with him, and the reporter mentioned (in context i presume) how honored he was sitted here next to the MVP. Garnett's reply was "If someone comes in here with a gun and shoots us both, we're both dead men, no difference"

Doesnt sound like a Prima Donna to me. Maybe this guy was trashtalking. That would be grounds for an arsewhupping. Aint no rookie that can trashtalk the League MVP and not get hit in the mouth for it

Would Kevin Garnett be the best player in the East? I can think of only Jermaine that could come close to being better?

of course he would...he's 1 of the top 2 or 3 players in the game today...that has no bearing on the question of whether or not he's a primadonna...even Michael Jordan could have been accused of being a primadonna in his day, & he was 1 of the greatest ever to play the game.

the difference is that MJ would normally embarass whoever was trying to score on them by shutting them down & making them look clearly inferior & scoring at will on them on the other end...i don't recall any instances where Jordan would punch out some rookie who made him look bad on the court in practice, do you?
