Are you expecting players who don't play good defense or have good ball movement to just magically develop it this year because they are young. As it stands right now, the Knicks are probably bottom 5 in both these categories. The Knicks real strength is shooting and even there, there's plenty of teams much better than them.

Its like you don't even hope your wrong. We get guys like you every year who think we are alls stooges that lap up the media and think the team is going to be good because of a press conference.

Let me tell you why we are not running around with our hair on fire:

1. Its july.
2. We don't get boners about summer league. Why? Its summer league.
3. Roster is not complete.
4. We don't know how Melo gets resolved.

If you ask me, we are lottery bound but then why be interested in the team? Cuz its our team. We are young and players have upside.
So don't go thinking you know better than most. We all know this team is very challenged.

1. It doesn't matter what month it is. The Knicks have regressed big time.
2. Nothing was mentioned about summer league.
3. The team is capped out and bad.
4. Every second Melo doesn't get dealt it hurts the Knicks.

What was the point of signing Tim Hardaway Jr if we are lottery bound?

Just because you are interested in the team doesn't mean you have to be joyful about it. It's your right as a fan to criticize the Knicks as much as you want.

Signing hardaway was meant to be a long term move. He's only 25. And I noticed you are new to the forum. Why even post here if you are so down on the team? You don't need to convince us how down you are, we get it.

It's my right as a fan to be down on the team. I think the team has a deserved it the way it's been run the last 15 years or so.

Knicks overpayed for Hardaway like he's going to put them over the hump. He doesn't help with the team culture seeing as he doesn't emphasize defense and ball movement personally. What's the point of Haradaway helping you score an extra 4-5 wins when you want a higher draft pick.

See if you get the higher draft pick you can sign the Tim Haradway later. Signing him before is doing things in backwards order which is Knicks 101 which is why there's no good reason to be optimistic.

It's your right as a fan to be down on the tram. I guess I just don't understand why you want to spend all this effort convincing us. In the 16 years I have been posting here, this is probably the most committed the Knicks have been to a long term plan and it's refreshing. We view the hardaway thing differently. That is fine. I see the value in it. But don't let our optimism ruin your good time lol.

Its within your right to be down. To be redundant, inaccurate, and us the UK as your emotional tampon!!!!
Its within our right to discuss valid points and debate opposing views.
Its within our right to not call you dumb, stupid or ignorant, cuz we don't know you. But we can call out your posts as we might see them and I think most do it rather politely. Your not rude or abusive so we engage with you. My point is your really not giving us anything we don't know. Its like your recruiting people to join a "Miserable" club.

WE know whats up, we see the record over the years. We know a starphuch when we see it. We like the direction of youth and rebuilding. Phil made mistakes being ambitious but he did not sacrifice the future potential.

Yes, Melo and the NTC is a problem and yes, Noah's contract might be bad if he does not bounce back.
We have a 7'3 guy who just won the skills competition and does things I have never seen another player do at his height. Also includes skipping an exit meeting!
Im rooting for this kid to be an allstar and root for him to be healthy!!!!!! Im not stupid, its my choice.

It's a myth that Phil was strictly looking for triangle players. Phil was looking for team players, smart player and character players.

You can say the same about literally any post on here. Everything is redundant. No ones writing anything I haven't seen before.

Yes I'd like more people to have my viewpoint. The sooner we all get here, the sooner we can push the organization to make meaningful changes.

Dolan is never going to change until people call for his head and people are patting him ont he back for this horrendous off season. I don't like the bar being this low.

Yes, boys and girls, here's where myth lives; in a land where Phil the Wizard didn't actually

give a max contract and an NTC to our possibly soon to be outgoing DOUCHE
traded for DRose
signed a guy who was essentially without a team, and is now a suspended $71 million dollar center's coach
signed Brandon Jennings

There was this from Rosen.
The Knicks press conference that introduced Scott Perry, their new general manager, was a cliché-ridden hoot. Steve Mills said that, even if Phil Jackson had been canned before the draft, he would still have used the eighth pick to select Frank Ntilikina.

Really? Even though PJ’s primary reason for tabbing Ntilikina was the youngster’s being a perfect fit for the triangle? And what else could Mills have said? That, if it were up to him, he would have picked somebody else?

Name one aspect of Ntilikina's game that is not longer effective because he's not going to play in the triangle.

This is a circle jerk.

It's not that. I think Rosen was implying Mills would have taken someone else.

I think all else being equal he wanted triangle players but Phil is a guy who traded for Rose.

Rosen is just Rosen.
I don't think this is coming from PJ.

PJ's players - handpicked - are the core of the team and who Mills says the team is building around.
If KP becomes a longterm franchise player for the Knicks, and Frank does well, people will look at Phil's time with great appreciation.

Doesn't seem Mills is doing much different than what Phil would have up to this point.
Other than being patient with a Melo trade.
Phil may not have been as patient or potent with the media.

I already do. If I could have seen the future I would have been thrilled with the Phil signing. Knicks needed this. They needed to strip this down. They needed to get away from the delusion that we are a player away, or we are going to sign max guys, or the draft isnt that important.

Phil stunk mostly, but he left us better then when he came in. Much better. There is a solid base of young talent here, we have all our #1s moving forward, no stupid swaps years out and we are scouting well and working the D league and EU markets.

Phil made lousy trades, his FAs were not good signings and his management of the media/transparency/org all looked terrible from every angle. Still... Phil's time is a nice stepping stone here.

yea man you have been the ultimate soldier! I totally agree. 15 years here and feel exactly the same. First time we have ever heard the words "we are building with youth" uttered in the MSG world.
First time we have seen the Knicks value the draft and actually execute there.
First time we have seen the henchmen handed an agenda that didnt say "win now with veteran players"

I dont know if Perry can succeed, but for the first time under Dolan I believe that a GM is actually set up to succeed.
