remember when teams used to full court pressure us because all we had was mars...not ne more

dare i say, with marbury, crawford, tim, jyd, nazr/vin - we can put the pitino fullcourt press back into OUR arsenal?

I think our #2 option is a no brainer, TT must definitely and unequivocally be given that position. If Lenny feature this kid as our #2 option, teams will have nothing but trouble in their hands. Who is tall and long enough to guard him in the post? no one. I would say that Odoms is probably the only guy that can keep up with him, but he is no longer in our conference.

like TT but he is NOWHERE close to hill on talent. Hill was one of the top 3 players in the league before he got hurt. Besides talent Hill also knew how to play the game correctly and TT has no clue or is just learning that aspect of the game.

Perhaps your right, but with out any doubt in my mind TT has the potential, and athletisim to be just as good.

It's odd that while we have many players that are capable, yet we have no idea who our main contributors will be.

Thats the whole point of this thread, were still short of leadership, and I'm mean big time. There isn't one player on this roster that can lead this team.

Almost all of them have the potential to be allstars, and just about all of them play a different style of ball

Nazy- athletic rebounder, but still a stiff who can shoot a 12 foot jumper, and has no heart.

Kt- solid defender, decent mid range shooter and rebounder, but doesn't have one post up move for a big man to save his life.

Sweetney- Is a very good rebounder for his height, has some solid offensive skills in the post, but he looks totally lost 40% of the time he's on the floor.

Penny- good defender, can still get to the basket, can play 3 postions, but shot something like 29% as a knick.

JC- ridiculous talant, with ridiculous amount of potential, but he also needs 30 shots to score 30 points, and is a very suspect defender.

Steph- we all know what he can do, but he struggles with out a post up player, or if allan is not on the floor.

TT- should be one of the top 20, but lacks consistancy and effort.

JYD- solid role player who can defend guy's his size(only), who should have learn some offensive moves by now.

Baker- has some good post up moves, but hardly ever requires a double team, and was ridiculously foul prone ( foul out in just about every game he played in) And holds the record for fouling out in less then 10 minutes of playing time.

Chemistry will be our biggest challenge, none of these guy's seem to complement each other except Allan and Steph.

I agree! i would make TT the #1 option!

It's odd that while we have many players that are capable, yet we have no idea who our main contributors will be. As the PG, Marbury is all but a given to produce night in and night out.

We have no idea who our #2 guy will be--- it could be Crawford, Houston, TT, or even Sweetney. Heck, even Kurt Thomas could emerge as a deadly mid-range shooter with his healthy pinky. Now that his irregular heartbeat has been repaired, maybe the svelte Vin Baker is still capable of last year's numbers w/ the Celtics. Even Nazr Mohammed can produce double-doubles, given the minutes.
Who was the Pistons' #2 man? Maybe you don't need labels like #1, #2, etc because labels don't win games

I don't know if having so many very good (not great) players is a good thing or not. It's not like we can do what Memphis has done-- play a whole bunch of guys for shorter minutes at max effort. I don't think it's the style of most of our players to play that way. We don't have "energy" guys with the exception of Shandon and JYD.

IMHO, the Piston's #1 and #2 options were Billups and Hamilton. Beyond that, Rasheed plugged in as an excellent #3 scorer, essentially improving on Corliss's role. Everyone else just kind of filled in.

I wonder if we have enough players that can be effective when they're not scoring. I think KT, JYD, Sweetney, and Mohammed can.
I don't think TT contributes much w/o the ball, neither does Houston (tho he does help w/ spacing). Baker gets very out of sync.

As people have been implying, TT needs to be an integral part of our offense for us to get value out of him, much like KVH, minutes can go by and you wouldn't even know he was on the floor.

Conventional basketball wisdom states that you need an effective inside-outside game to win... thus you'd probably want one of the big men to step up.

Our only hope of inside presence early in the season is Baker. I dont see Sweetney scoring in the post much to start it off. If baker cna score 10-15 pts in the paint and if Nazr can get 10pts in putbacks a game, we should be golden.

Our outside game is covered. Houston, Craw and Stephon can shoot. Steph and Craw can drive too. I am really looking forward to the Stephon, Jamal back court.

I think with Baker, Nazr, KT, JYD and Sweets the Knicks have a good mix of guys that do different things.....that's great If you are trying to build roles for you players.....

The Back court and perimeter guys are also a very versitile bunch with Timmy, Penny, Ariza, Marbs, Craw and Houston.....

The Knicks will be good.......maybe th eKnicks can pull off a Detroit and pick up th emissing piece come the Feb deadline

Anyone have any good guesses, as to who that missing piece will be? I can't call it.

It's as much of a mystery as... who will be the ones traded from the Knicks @ the deadline...

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

With IT at the helm anythings possible, he'll probably have to throw in TT or Penny.

In Spree's last season the Knicks played very well, sprewell missed the first 10 games of the season and we finished 5 games under 500, not to mention the McDyees was hurt the entire year and are starting team had harrington and weatherspoon in the line-up. Had Spree and Dice been healthy they would have won 47-49 games.
