The way people talked up Nazr "The Key to the Deal" last year and Baker you'd think that they were better and deserved the minutes. KT is better than JYD. At the very least he can do something on the offensive end.
Speaking of sticking to the topic are you capable of having a discussion without some sarcastic jab at people who actually like the team they follow? as for Nazr being the "key to the deal" when you have absolutely ZERO athleticism in your frontcourt Nazr is a good addition.

Nevermind... I thought you might actually want to talk about basketball... silly me.

Actually that was more of a sarcastic jab at Isiah but I can see where you could think that.

I'm not sure what athleticism that Nazr brought to the table that others didn't. He's basically a statue in the paint who refuses to contest shots.

Nazr has a nice post game. Given starter minutes, he can get you 20/8. His defense may not strike fear into other centers, but when did Doleac's?

Nazr isnt a 20/8 player... not even close, but in 25 minutes as a starter he was very close to averaging a double double. He can follow Marbury to the basket and get garbage rebounds and dunks. We didnt have anyone that could do that.

you can't just look at his numbers as I admit to doing when he came over from Atlanta and think that if he gets 30min a game he'll average a double-double for sure! You have to take into account that he's always in foul trouble, can't play defense, isn't atheletic enough and has no offense besides 1 or 2 putbacks a game. Then you realize he is a decent backup center but definitely not a starter. Basically if Nazr is your starting center you are not getting too far in the playoffs.

That's just silly.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Nazr is basically a garbage man. He just sits there waiting for others to set him up for garbage layups and dunks. He has no post up game to speak of. And on defense he just stands there and watches players go straight to the rim. He can rebound a little but at his size he still doesn't do that better than most.

I hope they can move K Thomas and give JYD the minutes he deserves. He's only two years removed from a great season of 10 points 9 rebounds. Id love to see him get 20 minutes a game. What a great character guy.

I would ask you if he's better than Doleac but thats a dumb question to ask you.

Isle's math:

Any player aquired by Isiah in deal < player traded in that deal to other team.

Don't be surprised if JYD outplays Nazr in camp and shows him a thing or two about playing D. For the record, Nazr > Doleac. Doleac is also a statue near the rim in his own right. Nazr works the garbage boards like no Knicks players have done since hmmmmm I guess its been a while, I could only think of 'Spoon getting his shot blocked.

I like Doleac a little more because he can shoot from 10-15 feet a little more consistently, he played much better with Marbury doing the pick and rolls and I think he gives more of an effort on the defensive end. Oh wait, I'm supposed to just hate for no good reason.

he did seem to play well with marbury, but with kurt thomas still in the fold, doleac or thomas' offense would've been redundant. he tried to move thomas but to no avail. he was able to move doleac for a player that filled a role we needed (albeit a garbage player). so isiah did it, that's why he was the "key to the deal" b/c he said if there was no nazr, then there was no deal. there were a few plays last season where he caught alley's of the inbounds - we haven't had that in a while.

Doleac wasnt aquired by Isiah therefore I expected a glowing scouting report and got exactly what I suspected.

Here's a news flash regarding his chemistry w/ Marbury. Anyone that can hit a 15 footer w/ do well w/ Steph because he's one of the premier dribble penetrators in the NBA.
