You know there's one thing about KP that makes him special is that he's able to play both 5 and 4 almost equally effective.
Melo is better at the 4.
So why if that's the case (too slow) can't we say go a bit smaller and go with KP/Melo starting with 3 guards?
Willy comes in as a 6th man, first off the bench for Melo or KP.
Porzingis/Melo/Thomas/Lee/Ntilikina. Good active defense with Ntilikina, Thomas, Porzingis at the 5, Lee.
Bring Willy off the bench for some scoring there, we need it on the second unit. Baker comes in early when Nti struggles and looks like a rook.
In this scenario NY would definitely benefit if NY landed Simmons as Simmons would get Lee's starting spot, allowing Lee to stabalize the second unit along with Willy.
