Something is amiss. Josh Jackson didn't want to play here

I think other players are wondering how they can be a star in Boston.

Teams current scheme is IT hogs the ball and everyone else scraps.

Personally, I think Ainge should've drafted Fultz or Ball and transitioned away from IT by next year. He has now boxed himself in a corner where they are going to have to give IT a max deal and they are going to regret it.

Very good point. I think they'd be inclined to give up a contract, even if it is a fraction of the price, just to maintain some type of cap flexibility for future trades but they would have some interest in Anderson. I'm not sure that the Rockets have enough draft assets to seduce the Nets though.

Indeed- personally I think that actually makes sense for the Cavs if Melo is Lebron is leaving after this season- gets rid of Loves contract (melo would likely opt out that year), giving them a clean slate once they've traded Irving.

Love is a productive all-star. If what they want is a fresh slate, I think they can get much more than just a shorter contract. They should be able to get a shorter contact and pick(s) or other assets.

And since he can't be included in a trade, the Rockets will have to find a third team to take Ryan Andersen since we definitely shouldn't be interested in him at that pricetag. Hopefully team like the Pistons take him as part of a salary dunp.

I definitely do not want Ryan Anderson, but I'd be happy with Ariza and Eric Gordon as I think you could trade the latter for a pick or young player or something

Cavs I definitely do not want to take on JR Smith's contract, so I have a hard time seeing what trade they could make. Unless we work out a 3 way deal with KLove going to Boston (if they flame out on Hayward)

I think CLE becomes the more likely destination between HOU and CLE. I just don't see MDA wanting Melo on one of his teams again....unless the Rockets want to get rid of MDA and adapt a new system with their new Big 3...

In any case, the Rockets have allegedly had interest in Iman Shumpert. The Knicks could send Melo to CLE, Shumpert to HOU and then we can take back Channing Frye's expirer, a draft pick and whatever salary the Rockets can unload to fscilitate the deal. The beauty of the deal is that Shumpert makes $12 million, which makes it easier for the Rockets to muster the contracts to match in a trade.

I'd agree with this. They are going to end up regretting that IT contract and committing to a team of umpa-loompa's. Should have began rebuilding the team and used the young players off the bench until the veterans' contracts expired.

NBA starts tightening up on palming violations and IT's game is affected big time

I also think they can regret a Hayward signing too. He's a fantastic player but will get overpaid; there are a lot of underpaid Celts at the moments who will start to grumble

No it's not.... we don't want love. He takes up too much salary. He doesn't fit the roster our the plan to rebuild...

But he could be flipped. I would love to get involved in a Cavs, Knicks 3 way... we just need that 3rd team

As messed up as it is a celts/cavs/knicks scenario is best...

Crowder Zeller nets pick next year to NY

Love to Boston

I think Zeller got waived.

Pheonix strikes me as a team that might jumo in yo be that 3rd team.... they have a ton of young players. The Knicks atte linked to Alan Williams.... we haven't signed a either.... Pheonix has like 3 point guards worthy of playing time. They could take on Love and give us Brandon Knight, a resigned Alan Williams or whatever.... they have more of what we would want as a franchise.

On it. I got Bleacher Report but when stuff gets busy it tends to hiccup.

News is that Cavs are more comfortable with Love, after the finals performance.

For me, the best thing to do is keep Melo until the trade deadline. Think he will be at his best and eager to prove Phil was the problem and do his best to play all around good ball. This will be the best way to raise his trade value. Then hope that Houston is having some issues gelling and that Cavs are going through their ussual mid year boredom struggles. Also, temas looking for a Playoof rental will see Melo's contract as a playoff rental and just one more year to absorb. Trading him now when his value is at it's lowest is a mistake. Only issue is that it may mess up our lottery pick.

Melo is done.

His shelf-life has expired. He'll play out his contract here, father a child or two more around the league and be done.

His contract is less of an albatross than he is.

this is pretty interesting
Phoenix now has many young high-pick forwards. Do they really want both Chriss and Josh along with Bender and whoever else I'm forgetting

Love would give them a different wrinkle and a vet presence up front

melo is a declining player so dont expect him to all of a sudden have a bigtime year because phil is gone. His value isnt high either way. Teams are looking at him as a third option who can provide scoring. Plus its time we focus on our young guys.

If Hayward isn't signed by the Celtics his value goes up. Not sure if he waives his NTC to go there.
