He was willing to cross a championship coach in Dallas, the whole team voted to deny him a playoff share. Not something that should be taken lightly. If Rondo was on his best behavior, was a willing mentor to Frank, things could turn out well. High Risk/Reward. Maybe not contract wise, but chemistry wise. Better than Rose though.
Rondo seems to have been a headache on every team he has played for. Not to mention the guy still can't shoot. I would pass on Rondo. Only takes one guy to destroy a locker room.
I agree, I would pass. If Rondo is signed however, he would be the best playmaker we've had in a long time. 2 years tops. A 2 year deal and least he could be moved if things didnt work out. 4 years and Rondo falls back on his old ways, the Knicks are likely stuck with his contract at this stage in Rondo's career. 2 years is the only deal that I could digest.
A two year deal sounds reasonable. I am not crazy about Rondo but he is not lazy, plays hard and he always plays to win. I don't think he would come here knowing we are not going to win a lot of games. But if he does, I will take him
