I agree. KP reacted to a bad situation but he is 21. Phil is still seeking payback two months later and he is willing to move his best player to get it. Phil is managing based on feelings/ego. It will only hurt the Knicks.

Any other job KP would be let go...I forgot who said this several mths ago....but if it was not for Phil taking a chance KP would have been playing for ORL....Phil is burned and I do not blame him...

No he would not. You don't fire a probable shining star over first time immaturity issues. Punish? Yes, definitely. Fire? No. Most companies are more lenient than that.

A player who shines but has not done anything in the league yet....if my asst pulled that type of crap and (key phrase coming here) ...did not makes amends after I extended a hand...I don't give a crap if they *hit gold bricks...I am getting rid of them....

I say this and I am very critical of his game. He has a ton of improvement to make. Those are impressive numbers and a great start though.

No question....but even Kobe never pulled this type of crap....

We are talking about a 2nd yr player here....a budding star indeed ....but there is a lot to be fulfilled....he is not the man yet

No he is not but it is still a players league, as it should be.

And Kobe might not have done THAT but I think his reputation is a lot worse than this incident.

BULL! Phil is not the one in the wrong here! Phil says he called and texted and we know Phil met with Janis. Janis keeps saying KP wants NY but IMO that's empty posturing to make KP look good. The TRUTH is they met with Phil and no progress was made ASM Sports is trying to get Phil to trade KP!!!
That's the only logical conclusion to why KP did this and hasn't mended fences.

Phil said he called and texted KP? Nix you always have links. I consume as much media as I can about the Knicks. I haven't read or heard anywhere that Phil called or texted KP. Is there a link?

He said it during the interview: He said he's reached out to KP and communicated but he hasn't had any voice communication, although he's tried--meaning he's been calling KP and being ignored. Not cool if true.

Phil is seeking payback? Really that's why you think is going on? How about nobody is above the team. Kristaps is trying to strong arm the Knicks and he can't stay healthy and he can't carry the team offensuvely yet.

different situation. Shaq missed it but made up for it 2 weeks later but phil was still upset but they moved past it. KP could have easily done this. The second time phil was retiring which shaq knew im sure

He missed twice and it really upset Phil according to the quote from Phil. Doesnt sound like something that just slipped his mind.
