The good news here is there isn't a ton of downside here. At worst, we drop a spot (#8) and still land a top tier player. This draft has 10 guys who go top 5 in most drafts, meaning, the players available at #7 or #8 should be a future high-level starter. Moving up would be a pleasant surprise, but it certainly doesn't make or break us. LAL and Sacramento in particular, have a lot riding on this, and so many scenarios that can play out will determine the future of those franchises. For us, it's just about drafting the BPA where we land, and plug them into the core group of KP and Willy, which gives us a reasonably bright future, having 3 good, young players as a start.

This is a far less stressful situation than most since as you say there will be a good talent 1-10. It's not likely to be a situation where the Knicks can be shut out like in some weak Drafts.

Players will rise, some will fall.
The intrigue will get intense in a few weeks before the draft. Remember KP? Most years the starphuch March Madness guys get hot (Buddy Hield, Shabazz Napier) and then a Euro or two start to gain if they have good showing.
"Frank" can be that guy. Or not.

Its a very imperfect science. its what makes it fun. Phucking lakers will rise to 2nd. Buss Family ex Jimmy just has that Mojo. Dolan's sold itself to devil.

Yep, they have two number one picks at stake- and a Paul George trade riding on the outcome too! If they keep this year's pick, I think they'll probably trade two of Russell, Randle, Clarkson and Ingram for Paul George

But not moving up to the top 3 means we will have to lose badly again next year- we can't move forward as a franchise until we've upgraded the talent via a top 3 pick. That's why the late winning annoyed me so much- it just meant we'd have to endure more losing the following year.

I'm in Rio de janeiro at the moment, but will hopefully be able to watch it- though they do tend to cut to Brazilian commentators at half time during games- hopefully they won't do that with the lottery!

Remember 2 years ago when we feel from #2 to #4 and it was considered a 3 person draft of Okafor, Towns, Russell? Good times.

We were very lucky everyone slept on KP.... we could have ended up with Okafor. He was considered the prize but now he's a after thought.... no matter what happens we still need to get lucky

You can't say that a pick at #7 won't be impacful. This is a pretty deep draft. I like the talent in this draft. I'm hoping the Knicks can get another pick in the 1st rd.

A 7th pick has a good chance of being impactful, but I think we ultimately need more than that- we need another star player, and the best odds of landing that is via top 3 pick

News flash... we're going to lose more before we start to win more. So save yourself the drama. Just enjoy what's happening now so when we do come up, it will be sweet

it would be nice to get a Lebron James vs. a Chris Bosh - in terms of impact.

I'd also add the best thing about this draft, is we have next years pick too!

NBA always drags it out! Walt Clyde looking dapper sitting there patiently waiting in his flamboyant suit.

We can use a little luck, right?
