JESUS! Phil is on the cusp of building a NEW CORE of talent for this franchise. There's no reason to do what Bird did. Why would Phil step down just as he's about to build a team that represents his vision? That's not a time to be leaving the job. It's time to roll up his sleeves and get down in there and work even harder.

Despite the bytching from some this is a GREAT period of time for this franchise. We have so much opportunity in front of this franchise to build for the future! We should all be excited!

That Melo trade would be a horrible trade for the Knicks. But it might happen.

That trade would make zero sense for the Knicks even if the Lakers say the will swap the 28th pick for the knicks' 45 and 58 picks. Really if Phil would make that trade it would be about getting Melo far far far away from him while saving face by showing fans that he got a 1st rd pick in return.

Whats interesting is Bird is stepping down taking accountability for doing many of the things that you and others wanted Phil to do. He aqcuired established productive players like Teague, Ellis, Thad Young, Al Jefferson to put around his superstar player Paul George. While also having a young developing prospect in Miles Turner. They did just enough to get into the playoffs and lose in the first round.

And they don't run the triangle.
