Phil messed up here. Bad. Got rid of Robin Lopez at what cost? Phil Jackson needs to have a good free agency and draft this summer. So far the only good moves that Phil has to his name is KOQ, Lee, Lance and the 2015 draft. And that's me being generous. Phil has been an upgrade over past GMs, but he can do a lot better than this.

I still think it's too early to say Phil messed up. Yes, we gave pup Lopez but our frontcourt is still crowded with KOQ, Porzingis, and Hernagomez. Don't forget we also got Justin Holiday in that trade, who at the time i thought was a throw-in, but who might be the most valuable piece in the trade for either side.

So I guess in 4-6 months he can serve the rest of his 20 game suspension.

What a signing.

The only viable alternative was to sign Dwight Howard. And if there was not enough drama for the Knicks this season, also having Dwight in the mix would have made it thermonuclear.

And keeping Lopez would have most likely meant trying to develop Jerian Grant as our PG of the future. At most with Deron Williams as a stopgap signing. The only other viable PG option on the market was Jeremy Lin, but I am not sure he+Melo would have worked well either.

Very sorry to hear this. This has to explains his pitiful free throws and reluctance to shoot

I've had a partially torn rotator and was fortunate enough to only need a relatively minor cortisone procedure and a super quick recovery

Noah must have had a severe rotator injury OR have had so many cortisone treatments that the Drs said no more (cortisone thins out the otherwise inflamed tissue. The number of treatments is limited out of concern for that tissue. If the inflammation or aggravation persists than surgery is needed to do things like remove some bone which is the source of the rubbing/inflammation)

A reAl doctor should correct the above but I'd be surprised if this is any way career threatening and would have to believe that this will yield a better Noah than we had

If this is what 18 million gets you, we should max out Rose.

I have the same issue with my shoulder. The pain went away but it's still torn. I decided not to have surgery.....just tired of going under the knife. My shooting took a hit but thank God I'm not an NBA player where my shooting pays the bill's.

No, the viable alternative was to stick with Lopez & Calderon- we'd still have added Baker and Randle - and won just as many, maybe more games.

And it's not like we would have been stuck with Grant -sorry,

Holiday has turned out to be a nice piece - but before we go and give props - let's see if we even resign him and at what price before calling that a nice win for Phil.

I don't know that you can put Lance and Lee in the win column.

Lance and Lee are getting paid $17m between them. Lee didn't look great early in the season and Lance has been hurt and only played 46 games and averaged 6 points for us. And he is 28- peak typically for an athlete.

Sucks. Fire Phil. If we do so this all goes away right?
We fired so many GM/Presidents over the years. It erased all their mistakes, right?
At least we can talk about them past tense and lay the blame.

I had hope for Phil. He has definitely helped move Dolan out of front and center. We don't know if he has been influencing things still behind the scenes.

Maybe Noah/Rose was all Dolan - was him telling Phil - what can we do to turn things around while Melo is still young. Maybe it was Phil Zen mastering Dolan to realize that to build a true champion, it would take years and the draft.

But I don't buy that. I think that is a stretch.

Phil was criticized for not having FO experience. I thought unfairly, but I think now, he has a handful of moves that are good, with tons others that were bad.

This shoulder injury does it for me, as well as the insistence on running a system that our coach does not believe in. The triangle is not hornaceks. It's Phils. He wants us to play that way, he coaches. Or goes finds a coach that believes in the triangle.

Oh wait, he tried that and couldn't find another.

What does that say.

Sure, Phil might be able to turn things around. Maybe this summer.

But rather than continue to go down this road, if I am the owner, I make the change now. I've seen enough.

If this was your prognosis after his last season ending rotator cuff surgery with the Bulls, you would be wrong...

was it the same shoulder? these are caused by impingements. A lot of volleyball players and pitchers get these injuries from very repetitive over the top motions. Weight lifters get it from benching, particularly if they have long arms and use more of a bodybuilder approach (flat back and touch higher on the chest)

you can often play through the issue BUT with greatly diminished performance. It could be the case (I don't know) that it was his other shoulder. I had a rotator cuff issue in one shoulder and a labrum issue in the other. It was only when both were fixed that I felt like my old self and got some power back. My procedures were minor and the recovery was quick.

really too bad. Would have been nice to have a healthy Noah/Willy/KP/KOQ to start the season. I wonder if that means they are less hesitant to trade KOQ.

I dont know who we draft, but it would have been nice to surround our young guys with Lance/Noah/Lee... 3 guys who know how to defend in the NBA. I think a trio of vets like that are sorely missed by a team like the Wolves. Lance and Noah cant stay healthy. Hopefully next year is a bounce back season for both.
