KP has regressed from the start of the season. That I agree. He looks tired and as if he has lost some of his touch on his moves. Since the Achilles injury he has never had the same touch scoring wise on a consistent basis.

That said right now he's at 18p/7r/2 blk a game on a team with Rose n Melo.
He is still on his way to becoming a very good player.
We need him to work on his post game.
We need to replace Rose with a real point guard.
We need to move on from Melo to get young and more athletic.

Replacing Rose will make a huge difference. A player like him needs playmaking help. The offense is sort of taking turns playing isoball, and KP is being forced into that. I am fully confident that 29 teams would be using him differently and are scratching their heads at the way the Knicks are using KP. There is a serious player development concern with this team in general, and the win at all cost mentality and the knee-jerk fan base is really hurting things. Late in this season, the focus needs to change on developing him as the star talent that he is, and stop trying to force him to play in a Melo-driven, iso-offense. We saw what happened to Jokic the minute Denver figured out how to use him, i think we will see the same with KP.

I disagree, Yesterday I watched kp on the floor with the 2nd unit, (no melo or rose) and every player ignored him, Even JVG, and the other 2 guys stated they didn't even realize he was still on the floor.

I saw baker and lee look him off on 2 occasions. He tries to play like he's 6 5", which is probably why phil once said he's too tall for his own good (in a nut shell).

No one in that group is a playmaker. Baker passes the ball but doesn't create plays. We need a real PG. Jennings is the closest thing.

Also, Phil's comments about being too tall refer to injury concerns mainly.

Westbrook is a guard and I have a hard time seeing KP reach the impact of Russell. Russell can literally control a game. He's a top 5 player every year in value since he hit his prime. So I won't expect that from KP.

The better comparison is to Dirk or Pau Gasol. Look up the two of them vs KP at 21. I think KP does very well. Some act as if he's Bargnani 2.0 around here (Look up Bargnani's numbers in his 2nd year).

Forget all that even. Just look at heart. KP's playing sick, injured. He's diving for loose balls in the 4th. He's playing as if his prime is winding down and the window is closing. How Rose and Melo, Lee and other vets should be playing. Instead it's KP puking and playing through it. I tell you, I love this guy's tougness and mentality. He's going to become a very very good player. Lots of people will eat their words (or just vanish when he hits his prime).

For comparison, Willy struggled yesterday as well, and finished with 8 points 10 boards. These our young guys BAD games. In BAD games they put up decent numbers. Give them 2 years, some athletic wings and most important a real point guard. They'll show you.
