I read Ned Irish was a bit of a prick too.
Knicks were a bad team for many years before Frazier and Reed were stars.
Many Gm's and presidents of they team failed.
There are lots of pro sports owners who are not liked.
Dolan is not his father. He is a spineless little man.
But that don't make Oak a hero here.
We are a knicks family. We were here before Dolan, and we'll be here after him.
Oakley is a hero.
And Dolan is a man who is over 200 games under .500 as an owner.
Oakley busted his ass for this team and played with a spirit that hasn't been matched since he left.
James Dolan was handed a billion dollar cable company and New York sports franchises by his father. Not only is he out of touch with the public, but he also does not seem to care about anyone but himself and his opinion. 17 years of terrible basketball. Is it a coincidence the Knicks have been terrible from the very moment he became an owner? No.
Like I said, I was a knick fan before Dolan, and will be after.
The records speak for themselves. You don't have to tell me Dolan is a bad owner, sets unreasonable policies in MSG.
Im upset we lost that game!
We all loved oak. He played with passion in a great era of basketball. That does not excuse his behavior. Dolan politics, inheritance, etc does not define his negative influence, dumb is dumb.
Lots of people are piling on now with all kinds of wise advice in the aftermath. Spencer checkouts now chimes in? Anyone think Oak would sit with dolan at that point? Dolan would be seen as trying to make a public show of it.
I prefer they work out their beef, I doubt this is very hard. I think for years Oak is just trying to make Dolan look bad. Jimmy does a fine job of it himself!!!
