This is huge if true. How can you be engaging teams with the intent of moving Melo if he might negate the trade. Marks on a podcast the other day said there is no way you do that without a list and assurances from the player that he would accept a trade there.
This is what players do, they say that THEY have not talked to management, but surely his agent or someone on his behalf could. It's the semantic game everyone plays.
Maybe but it is a direct quote and a denial. Also, he did meet with Phil.
Great. Rosen directly said he did not talk to Phil in regards to his articles. I am pretty sure you are not on the other side of the fence with that.
Phil keeps Rosen's livelihood going because he gives Rosen exclusives which people tend to read..Otherwise, Rosen is not a sort after writer. Rosen knows who his meal ticket is..I find it very difficult to believe he won't consult Phil before writing something that will clearly affect his team and his organization...
Rosen is 76 years old, author of 16 books and writes a bit here and there.
Maybe he is Phil's meal ticket. What does that change?
Phil, who does not speak instead has his message encrypted by another writer? Shut, the man don't want Melo. We don't if he ever wanted him, but its not as if it was not in the knicks best interest short term to retain him, and when the time came, Trade him. With restrictions. And not get a full value in return because he had that clause. If he plays well, knicks do well. if he plays well, knicks benefit. He plays well and they lose, he draws at the gate, and bide time on the court until assets can be obtained. He then can be traded for something. If he plays poorly, or gets hurt, then nobody wants him.
I'd say he has played well and the record speaks for itself.
