Unless Phil blows up this roster they won't be bad enough to get a top 5 pick! I'm not sure what you think the Knicks chances of falling far enough actually are but they still have a lot of teams ahead of them in a lottery situation. As bad as the losing has been they aren't in the running for that top pick.

Kuz is a rookie. He wasn't drafted so he is a copeland like signing. Willy, Baker, Plumlee and Ndour are all rookies. Hornacek has said Plumlee is a beast in practice and he wants to get him playing time. The Knicks have their picks from now on. The Knicks have young guys, picks and assets. Not sure that the guy that gets ten cents on the dollar in trades can do anything with that but denying what the roster has now and the team has in the future sounds like a hater.

Baker, Plumlee, Ndour are not worth discussing. Nobody cares about practice.

Kuzminskas is 27 years old. Thanks for letting me know he's a rookie. There's not much upside there regardless of many years he has been in the league.

This is like like Groundhog Day with you and a few others making the same arguments for Trevor Ariza, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Toney Douglas, Demetris Nicholas, Renaldo Balkman, Mardy Collins, Channing Frye, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov, Jerian Grant, Jordan Hill, etc.

Willy is solid but still young.

Kristaps is the franchise player of the future.

Other than that we need a ton of help. A ton. Starting with another top young player in the draft to pair with Porzingis.

Melo/Noah/Rose/KP is rather good on paper. Perhaps we as fans have been too short sighted? If Phil wants to move forward without Melo, we fans can weigh it but we don' know what melo brings back in value.
My hope was this team would not be so Melo Centric this year. Maybe Knicks were as well.

Yes, but Lee makes what many all-stars or near all-stars are making. You do have to pay somebody but it doesn't have to be 8 figures for a marginal starter or bench player. The min payroll is like 85 mil right? (or an average of $5 to 6 mil a player) We wouldn't have to worry about making the min payroll even if we didn't have Lee.

My point was merely that we are not going to get all Stars which is actually good, but we need solid vets. Also need to see if we can get older vets with good attitude and championship experience. Need to surround KP with winners not career losers. I know he likes Melo, but he is young and he will get over it. I am sure Melo can be a likeable person but his influence on KP doesn't seem to be doing him much good.

I don't think you need to get vets you need good vets on the bench that can coach the young players. Ex players like Ewing, KG ex players that exemplied hard work and dedication. As for having vets who have won on championships not so much. They are just that role players that were at the right place at the right time see JR Smith and Iman Shumpert. That doesn't work better off having hungry young players looking to find their way.

Ah I think you took the vets with championship experience thing literally. I don't mean JR and Shumpert but I'll take someone along the lines of Ginobli. Rasheed or Timmy D if they are willing to coach. Just gotta lose Rambis.

I did mention KG and Ewing as possible coaching candidates. We tried this in the past Chandler and Malik Rose. They were suppose to bring that championship pedigree to the Knicks.

Evry team is having a rough patch, we have 10 new players a new coach, and rambis. Willy and Lee are starting to play consistant , kuz has crack the rotation, these guys are going to get familiar with there roles. You have to let the procss play out before you blow it up.
