I held this thought firmly in early of the season.

It'd be best for the Knicks to NOT make the playoffs, we have our own pick this year. We should tank, and tank hard, there's a lot of PG's in this years draft. No generational talents but what's the point of exiting in the first round with our current roster? I don't see any point.

Rose is not the answer.

Under the new CBA the only way you can add franchise changing talent is via the draft (or if you're already on the verge of a championship and can lure a top FA who puts winning over money, which is rare)- FA is only for adding over priced role players. Restricted FAs get maxed out even if they're below average, maybe you can sign an unrestricted player in their 30s who is on the decline, if you over pay them.

If we land a top pick we can hopefully fill the PG slot at last, for years to come.

I disagree. You can get players at bargains in FA if you don't starphuck even if you're bad. We got KOQ and Kuz on good contracts.

Good contracts are rare (about one per offseason). Milsap when he first signed with the hawks, Isaiah Thomas when he signed with the sun's, Crowder's is pretty good too. Like I said, rare and increasingly difficult to do

I agree that starphucks are the road to ruin

Players and coaches do not tank and i can't understand why anyone would think they do.

Jennings was a decent contract too. If we strike out with the top players in free agency, we need to fill the roster with contracts that aren't long-term poisons. What's the minimum payroll? Something like 80 mil or an average of $5 mil a player? We don't need to give long-term $12 to 17 mil per for guys who don't even belong in a starting lineup.

Yes otherwise we will just follow the sixer's path of rebuild. Is it really fun?

Can it be any worse than the last 20 years of not talking? Seriously?? People still make this argument about building through trades?

I cannot teach anybody anything. I can only try to make them think - Socrates

You would have truly enjoyed life posting about the 30 or so wins you would have seen as a pseudo-Sixer fan in the last 5 years then? Seriously???
I guess you'd have all that excitement every year painting your face on draft day and counting ping pong balls, right?

Tanking. Unreal. List off all the tank jobs that have led to chips in the last 20 years.

So you actually think that Hinkie went to the players and coaches and told them to not win?? You can't be serious right??
