He should be the starting 3 from now on.
KP, Melo, Kuz, Lee, Rose
Noah, KOQ, Holiday, Jennings, Baker
I would love this. If we are going to be bad on defense, let's be great on offense. Defense improves just with re-positioning alone, and offense will look smooth with all of the space. That should be the rotation for now.
I love that line up as well melo and KP become better defensively at the 4 & 5 the spacing is better....
I will say though Noah played great yesterday ... if he can keep that up we will be a better team with him.
Noah can be a really good backup center. He's not a starter anymore. But he can still get his 20 mpg off the bench. Really, O'Quinn will probably have to be traded for help in another area. Maybe he can net us a combo forward, someone like PJ Tucker or even someone better. I don't want to trade him, but at some point, it's inevitable he can get back solid return, and his contract only has 1 more year after this, then it's a player option, which he will obviously decline and find a new contract. Noah and Willy will be primary centers off the bench, and Plumlee is there for depth. We don't need to deal O'Quinn now, but i don't see him being here long-term if we are smart enough to move Porzingis to the 5 and Melo to the 4. Seems like just too much depth at the center position, and we know we need help at the 1, 2, and 3 long-term.
right now OQuinn, Kuz, KP and Willy are the future frontcourt of this team. Melo expires in 2 years, and Noah's value is in what he brings to that group. That group can learn a lot of playing with Noah. I dont really care if this current team doesnt work or not. Its clumsy but we have good future pieces in those players I mentioned. Those 4 are worth investing in as a group. Im not sold on Baker but drafting a good wing would be a nice add to that group.
I agree, i'm not opposed to keeping them all. Our frontcourt is set for a long time. But eventually we will need to balance it out. We still need another combo forward and obviously a future PG and SG. A lot of holes to fill and we have luxuries at the center. But all of KP, O'Quinn, and Willy can slide to PF so it should be fine. Kuz will play both forward positions.
