I don't think that is about a defensive philosophy as much as guys just don't rotate and close out to shooters.

Then the guys who aren't playing the coach's philosophy should be benched. But it looks strikingly similar to the defense under Rambis last season. Rambis (and Phil) believe in conceding the three. It's not a fit for the modern NBA

I think so far the Knicks players have made a conscious decision to not run to the refs complaining....only Jennings has done it so far.

The Knicks have allowed Tyreke Evans, a 29% three point shooter, to hit two threes in a row. Wow, they're terrible.

On the other hand, that offensive foul call on KP was insanely terrible. So the refs are just as bad at their job as the Knicks are.
