PF-Melo
SF-CLee
SG-DRose
PG-Baker
We get Baker distributing and playing good perimeter defense and Rose slashing at will. CLee would really thrive in his getting open 3 pt shots being guarded by a SF.
Have Noah, Willy and KOQ back up the 4 and 5 spot.
Have Kuz backup the 3 spot
Have Holiday backup the 2 and 3 spot
Have Jennings backup the 1 spot.
Gotta say I really like you idea. I've been a proponent of going small with this roster and having Melo and KP at the 4n5 but I actually hadn't thought of this particular lineup. It looks very interesting based on the actual skills of the players we have. I wonder if Phil would let Jeff just do what he wants if he wanted to go with this or if he'd complain?
We need the flexibility to go big against some teams, depending on matchups. Noah+KP is a very solid rim protection scheme. Plus, with KP out on the perimeter guarding the new wave of 3pt shooting BIGs, we'd have nobody down low protecting the rim.
that said, it might be worth a shot to try in some circumstances (i.e., small ball). But Ron is not going to score. That's also a problem. Small ball teams need players who can shoot the rock.
