I liked MDA as the Knicks coach he and Amare got the Knicks back into the playoffs. Our so called a star player can't do anything but Isolation. So he ran him out of town just as he did to Lin. Two birds with one stone.

That team was .500 when Melo arrived and was trending down...Amare was already on decline from injuries...Melo had a lot to do with that team making the playoffs that year....

And right after Melo so-called chased him outta town, the Knicks had their best year in a decade...MDA is a good system coach with the right roster. He didn't have the roster that fit his style of play here.

One name Jason Kidd. That was the reason for the great year.

The same guy that averaged .9 pts per game in the players?! Kidd helped, but saying he's the reason is way overstated....BTW, Melo finished 3rd place in MVP voting that year. But what do NBA writers know?

I think he also shot 46% that year maybe because Kidd was like a coach on the floor. I personally think he was the main reason for the Kincks having success but that was what 5 years ago. That Melo is long gone your looking at an aged version.

I think he would have won mvp if D12 didn't destroy him in that game in dec? He couldn't miss anything prior to that.

Things like this are the history of being a Knicks fan!!! Moments that became pivotal in how the team finished a given year that had real promise. Stern suspending key Knicks for letter of the law nitpicking. I just hope during KP's career we can finally put a team together around him that can win a title.

A great coach would be someone that regardless of the caliber of players have consistently put out high effort teams and winning records. It's also someone who coaches all aspects of the game. Danfoni is no great coach. At best he is a guy pushing a high scoring offensive system that has been around since Paul Westhead.

What is this BS you just posted? Successful coaches generally have great talent!!! Harden is benefiting from having a talented coach put him in position to MAXIMIZE his talent!!! MDA has done that for MANY players over his career and so it's not a fluke. It's what MDA does!!!

He's not perfect but the man can coach if you get out of his way and let him do his thing. Before the season many laughed at Houston for bringing in MDA.
