ive never heard of richuan holmes AT ALL lol

what you guys think?

I'd certainly consider that deal. Lance was great last year but I wonder how bad his feet are. I have plantar fasciitis bad in one foot and it blows... if he has it bad in both feet, he may never be as good as last year again. It's hard to rehab... you want to rest your feet, but then your calves, hammys, and back start to tighten and it makes your feet even worse. So in short, if there is even a chance to get a first, save some cap money to give to Jennings, and get out of the deal before it become a bad deal, I'm in favor of it.

I doubt that we get a player better than LAnce with the first but I'd rather just minimize the risk

LT is starting to become that glue guy again, I agree plantar fasciitis is an SOB. If they can afford to trade him for an expiring (who probably wont stick) its really about that first round pick and where in the first round it is.

They might as well just rest Thomas for a month, and have him ready for the playoffs. Pretty sure his stock will be higher, and Thomas could be included in a package to upgrade the roster, if the opportunity presents itself this summer. If Melo is staying, Id like to see the Knicks make a legit run at the conference finals.

That is what it comes down to. Those attributes makes a player like him almost untradeable, because a trade won't replace that value.

I am a believer this is true. Also its not like he does nothing... I think he's still the team's leading rebounder and one is prob in the top 20 in offensive boards

I believe that closes the case on trading Noah

Yes, but you can't throw away the key yet. As a fan, he has not met my expectations. But......

I believe his value will be in the playoffs. Noah is a home town player and a big man coach for the team. Motivator and Leader. So it's very hard to place a value on that.

Plus, he's the reason why Courtney Lee is here and if Rose signs a favorable contract, I'm sure Noah has some impact on that. I still believe Noah is the best 7ft big man defender against other 7ft bigs that we have. I love KOQ's energy and offense, but he doesn't have the length on defense to guard 7fter's.....and too slow laterally to stay in front of faster PF's......Billy has a little more promise on defense, but he's not ready yet.

I have only watched Holmes a couple of times but he has looked really good. The Sixers just have too many good young front court players. I don't know who the Knicks give up to get him. NDour and a second rounder?

Would anyone trade Noah for Greg Monroe? I wouldn't, but interested in what others thought.

That Lance trade is absurd -- what is that writer drinking? Pacer's have zero need for Lance, his contract or for giving up 2018 pick for such a stiff.

+1. Great read. Lots of intangibles with Noah.

I notice the intangibles but is it worth that much? I'm not saying it is or isn't but Noah is on a very very large contract, in saying that I believe he still has some gas in the tank and if he can get healthy can become a decent contributor again

100%, especially if we are seeing the effect on KOQ (but who knows if that is the case). And certainly 200% if Noah has any effect on KP defensively (not to mention Willy), and I don't doubt he would.

As a starter, you want more than intangibles, you want production. Usually we speak of players being good mentors, who are coming off the bench, because their best days are behind them. Noah might get healthy again. If this is the best it gets however, Id like to see Noah either benched or traded. Intangibles can only go so far.

I know we are all falling in love with K.O'Quinn offense right now, but his defense is atrocious and it was evident at the PHX Suns game.

Unless someone offers a mind blowing deal, I think the Knicks should stay put and hope that our younger bench players continue to develop

Agree on all counts, trades are kinda silly right now. Team needs more time to gel and develop an identity. I do wish Plumlee would get more PT though. I want him and Willy to learn from Noah. Like you said we should not get carried away with KOQ, he did surprise me pleasantly but needs to add blocking and rebounding in a big way.

nope, I want to keep Noah, I expect more from him, but you can't buy leadership.
