classic case of "downside"I think one his strongest aspects of coaching is he gives guys burn. They get in and the know they arent getting yanked. I 100% agree he stayed with Baker waaaay too long. I think part of that was simply that group was playing well (despite Baker's limited contributions) and Jennings was not having a good night, so it was just a case of riding with what was working.
I also thought he should have gone back to Lee earlier. Lee has been fantastic on both ends of the court.
Tough loss before GS, but if they can win in Denver and come back 3-2 over a 5 game trip you sign up for that at this point in the season. I would expect us to win this type of game later on in the year, but 25 games in the coach is still feeling things out a bit.
The good of it all is we got nothing from Rose and Melo, and still were a KP jumper from getting a win at the end of regulation.
42 mins of prime KP wasted by some very poor decisions/play from Melo. Now you go get whupped by Warriors and Denver will be NO PICNIC and we will probably have to grind KP up close to 40 mins a game again next few nights.
His mins are too high for me right now -- his 7'3" unicorn feet/knees/legs not built for grinding -- he is a race horse and should be treated carefully.
so when KP shot 30 whatever % for a stetch of games how did the Knicks win? Because Melo (and Rose) had monster games. But if KP plays well and Melo struggles its "ruined KP's great game." Epic trolling dude. So lame.Melo has career lows (or near to them) in FG%, rebs, assists... he's not having a good year. He's also not Jose Calderon. He's still the leading scorer on the team and if you actually watched has had not shortage of bigtime games and bigtime shots.
Waaa.. Melo ruined KP's good game. Yea man. I gotta go... Im gonna be late for homeroom.
The thing I don't like, is when guys struggle, they start taking even worse shots, this goes for KP, melo and Rose..Melo for all his struggles, put up some horrible shots, as if was hot to death (when every and anything falls).
that Jennings Turnover, (the stupid pass he gave melo running side by side of him) was the back breaker. kp's last foul that got him booted to the bench. This loss was a combination of a few mishaps.
More importantly, we struggle to handle speed ball teams, that space and shoot mega 3's
