Even after that it was thought that it would take longer for KP to develop and this has been amazing how fast he has grown since the draft. None of the pre-draft stuff matters at this point. It all worked out and I believe we're all happy that it did. Knicks haven't had many breaks the last decade or more.
looking back on it the only other guy i would have been happy about was Towns obviously who is also a beast. Being a bit of a unknown might have helped KP slide to us because i do know the lakers were very interested but thought russell was a safer pick. This is why i HARP on keeping draft picks. Sure they dont all work out but the more picks you have the easier it is to get good young talent for cheap

Phil has done a solid job with adding picks and keeping the future picks. He's made some savvy moves like Willy and bringing in UDFA's. Overall I like what they've have done. Not everything works out as you say but KP was a huge success and I wish him only the best in his career in NY. I really hope to see KP and this team in the Playoffs. That would be freaking awesome. They've got a lot more work to do!

Yes it does. Got tired of watching teams like the Magic reload year after year with one superstar after another. Knicks finally hit rock bottom, and now are able to get back on the road to relevancy.

I will be real happy when it's considered a given that the Knicks and KP will be in the hunt at playoff time.

Being that Thaksgiving just passed, I'm incredibly thankful that my sports teams have pulled themselves out of the dark ages. It feels great. I just wish I had the same enthusiasm I did when I was younger. Damn Knicks have made me so jaded lol

A little early to call KP a franchise superstar, what the Knicks do have are 2 stars in Melo and KP. Not many teams have a trio like KP, Melo and Rose, It gives them an elite wing scorer, and elite dribble penetration threat and an elite big who can space the floor. I don't think we have a franchise superstar that carries the team sort of like Steph Curry, Lebron, Durant, Westbrook or Harden.

KP's peak is still a few years away and so he may be that great of a player. We will see. Even with whar he is showing now, he looks like a very good two way star. A top 10 talent. Lets see if he can be more than that but I even would be extremely happy if he can do what he is doing now just playing more minutes at the 5. A good defensive 5 who can give you 20-22 points a night, stretch the floor and anchor the paint is top 10 in value in my book.

KP did something elite players do. When the offensive is suffering he found other ways to help his team win. He also hit a huge shot after coming up short on the previous two shots. Showed no fear. He's not there yet but is definitely taking steps in the franchise player direction.

Hey, I hear some guy hit a shot at MSG with only 3 seconds to go on the clock, and then some other guy blocked Kemba Walker's shot at the buzzer!

Would have been nice if our only franchise superstar could have gotten just two more blocks against Kaminsky out at the 3 point line.
