Besides guys like Drummond are hard to deal with for ANYBODY. How many players really shut him down on a regular basis anyway?

I actually think our bigs represent a very good group overall and better than a lot of team in terms of quality and depth.

We don't have that fear when our reserves come into the game and that's a good place to be. These guys are getting better as they get more time.

Here's one advantage of having Noah here - he is a mentor to Willy and KP. For as long as we are paying Noah $18M per year, we're also paying Willy and KP on rookie scale contracts. And we have a defensive player of the year big man to motivate them, tutor them, school them, and ocassionally step up with a big game of his own when needed and able.


“(Noah) told me I had to be physical from the jump-ball. Try to be on (Howard’s) back because he wants to do the spin move for the lob pass,” Hernangomez said. “I tried to fight every time I had contact with him, and box out because he goes for the every rebound on both rims. I think I have to say thank you to Jo.”

I'm not buying this. There are nights when the team is better without Noah - but overall there are only two rotation players with positive plus minus number on the knicks Melo and Noah. Noah is an excellent passer and his he's averaging 18.3 rebounds per 48 minutes. His defense has been disappointing. But there is a reason no coach in O'Quinn's career has ever entrusted him with more than fringe rotation status and Willie is a rookie (though I do have high hopes for him.)

Update - Need to add Kuzminskas in there.

He's showing that can drive or shoot. Be a double threat. I like that. Not just a typical sit back and shoot outside shots.

The lineup with Porzingis, Kuzminskas and Holiday with Rose and Jennings in the backcourt can really give teams fits. So much speed and ability there.

Phil Jackson's best moves continue to be the lesser hyped ones. He's quietly added a number of solid players that fit into what we want to do. What we're missing is maybe a star guard (Although if Rose plays like he did last night, we have that as well) who can match what Porzingis is doing - being in athletic prime and on his way up.

Overall this team is either Rose playing consistently well like an all-star (which so far he has not, he has shown that he has the ability but not consistent yet) and that KP is an emerging star. The pieces supporting Melo, KP and a star guard are very solid. Lets see if Rose can step up and play more like last night on a consistent basis.
