The only person thats affected by this is you.....The knicks are fine. This is baggage he received when he was with the Bulls. JR Smith reckless driving killed his passenger. Ray Lewis was accused of murder, and he's currently a well known celebrity here in bmore and he's well respected. Some people continue to hold on to peoples negative past, others move on. Brady continued to lie about all the allegations against him and the franchise. He dragged it out all season.....4 weeks into the season, after throwing several TD's everything will be back to normal. This will pass, just like Trumps racist comments and his campaign manager calling women dikes. People do and say a lot of cruel things in this world.....But sports has a way to erase negativity, if you allow your game to speak for itself. I can see Rose using this to fuel his game on the court.....And I don't see how this will set the franchise back......Isiah Thomas is a good example. He's still employed by the knicks, after everything he's been through.

not if he and the media circus sure to surround him proves a distraction to the team, quite possibly undermining morale. the lawsuit was brought to federal court. the charges involve sordid behavior and will cause a huge amount of social rubbernecking.

While this is true it is also wrong. The Michael Vicks and the Isiahs of the world should not be forgiven. Our need for entertainment allows us to gloss over crimes against humanity and society. Sports doesn't speak for itself when it makes acts of cruelty forgotten it only speaks to how far we have fallen. I don't think NY will hold this against Rose, but I think it should. If DK7th is the only person affected by one of our "star" players being accused of rape or sexual assault it only shows how pathetic the rest of us are as human beings.

blkexec and others of his ilk apparently live in a fantasy world. this is new york, the media capital of the world, not some 4th-rate american city. seems like a lot of fans on this forum live far from new york city, so they don't have a feel for what will happen. while i am disgusted by the allegations and really don't give two shyts about the plaintiff or the defendant, i do care a lot about my team.

it isn't the moral outrage that is going to be the driving force behind the attention, it's going to be the media itself that will create the distraction, because morbid and sordid fascination and gossip is what sells. "this too will pass" is a fatuous fantasy that some knick fans blithely promote. the reality is the media will grab this and hold on ferociously.

Feel this woman is trying to extort money as she realized her relationship, with him, was not going to end up in marriage and the easy life. If allegations had more strengh, this would have ended up in a criminal case. But your saying he should not defend himaelf from someone trying to extort money, if he believes he is innocent? So we should all just give in to those that can lie and file a civil lawsuit against us to collect money? Think that is a sad comment on what people have become accustomed to. Maybe if more people fought these attempts at legal extortion, by lawyers, we would have less of it around. IMO, It looks better for him that he is fighting this as opposed to paying for it to be swept under the rug. Hopefully it will have a quuck resolution. Although with attorneys, they will know to stretch it out and make it more of a problem for him.

What you propose is a testament for the country which swapped truth for perception and political correctness, giving up the main value which make this country what it is. If we will not stop following this deadly path individually and collectively we are up for very dark future. It doesn't matter what rose does....if he settles or not, the media will continue to make a story out of it, as long as there's an audience who feeds off this junk......Someone mentioned Mike Vick and his dog fighting as an example......what about the KKK leader who backs trump and continues to run for office. He has more blood and crime on his hands that will make rose look like an angel. All these elected officials have done far more negative things to people and children vs fighting dogs and having sex. If u going to lean hard on rose then be consistent and make sure to make a thread for these child molesters and rapist who continue to run for office while spending your tax money in strip clubs. I'm not oblivious to what rose or Fisher has done. But if you want to affect change, don't start with the lower level guys who simply lacks the maturity or because the media decides who u should focus on.
