great add... the poor man's Manu. Good depth signing. You need guys like this. As Knickoftime mentioned we have a nice balance of youth on the roster as well

I'm actually happy about this. Once he found his shot, the second half of last season he may have actually been the best guard on the roster.

It's not about that when it comes to Sasha. Sasha brings it in practice. He's going to help the team gel. He's a fiesty competitor too. Sasha is always ready when called upon. Regardless if people think he's good or that he sucks he's a guy you want on the roster. He's a leader.

Yeah, I completely agree. Whether he needs to be the first guard off the bench because of an injury, play five minutes, not play at all, just practice hard... he's a good pressence on the team. Even when he wasn't hitting his shot I liked him. Once he started hitting his shot, he was actually a good player for us.

He did come on at the end of the yr, but unless he's getting consistent min, he sucks

I'd like to see our rotation during a typical game as follows:

Noah/Pozingis/Melo/Lee/Rose
Porzingis/Thomas/Melo/Lee/Jennings
OQuinn/Thomas/Kuzmninskas/Holiday/Jennings
Noah/Thomas/Kuzminskas/Rose/Jennings
Porzingis/Melo/Lee/Rose/Jennings

Depth Chart/Active Roster

Noah/OQuinn/Hernangomez or Plumlee
Porzingis/Thomas
Melo/Kuzminskas
Lee/Holiday/Vujacic
Rose/Jennings

Inactive:
Hernangomez or Plumlee
Baker

Many posters are referring to the team as a 'win now' squad, though I think this does a disservice to what Phil and Mills have built here. This is more a "now & later" squad - built to win now while setting the foundation for long-term sustained success. KP6, Willy, Mindy, Plumtree, Holiday, Jennings, maybe Baker or another rook. That is a solid set of youths who will learn from the young vets and be the new core in the coming years. Not to mention the new FA's and draft picks we'll add in the coming four years.

Now & Later!

Good call and i agree. We have a team that can win now and some really good young guys that will still be young when Melo and Noah are gone and all of our 1st round picks to add to our youngsters.

i prefer
Starburst.

The rotations should go by who we're playing. If that team is a small ball team or not or if they're a more defensive team or not or whatever else so i think the rotations will change.

Your kidding right, Galloway, THJ, grant, coles, Jason smith, larkin. those 2nd tier young cats don't stick around for long. If a young player doesn't have a significant impact in his first yr or 2, he'll be a trade bate

Phil did what he is supposed to do. He brought in players that are at least known quantities. You have a clear idea of what they can do on an NBA level and where the upside from these players comes from. They have to make evaluations all the time about young players and for the most part they have greater trust of vets who they know can provide the things the team needs.

Waiting on Undeveloped Youth is fine if you have no other means to get the production you need but it can take longer than you wish and very rarely does it lead to success. This is a league where an Elite few players are impact players and a larger but still rare group of players behind those Elite players who can also help a team win. Giving up on long shot Young players for vets is understandable under those circumstances. This is year 3 coming up and the Knicks still have a few young players but have added some vets to expedite winning. Without draft picks in every one of these losing seasons it made it harder to build thru the draft so this path makes sense in this case.
