yes. I cant comment on his talent (mindzigus - sorry i dont know the spelling) - ive never seen him play before. however something tells me that if the knicks had more cap space they would've spent it on an NBA player with more experience.

Plumlee - isn't NBA material.

Sasha - used to be NBA material

I can only assume theyre signing these guys because there are 3-4 spots left and theres no more cap space.

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

haha, you can't comment on his talent but you just did on an assumption based on nothing.

I think he will play better than Willy.

Phil and Mills openly stated that they were taking a look at international players they could bring over who could actually contribute. Woj spoke very highly of the kid, so I don't get the pessimism. It's like stashing a pick overseas and letting them develop him.

exactly. I made a comment based on the numbers game. this isn't pessimism. he might be good, I hope hes good. I have no idea - I thought I stated that. knicks are good at international scouting. but like I said, if they had more cap space I think they would've kept gallo and looked at other nba players

complete speculation on my part

Called this a while back.
He is cheap - will play for a vet min.
Great teammate especially for KP.
Good shooter.
High effort on defense.

Likely our 3rd string player here.

Exactly.

After the new roster additions all go down with injuries, the Knicks will be
able to rebuild around Vujacic . . .

I don't think Gallo was a priority, if they did want him back at all. They would have signed him at a small one-year contract, which wasn't gonna be enough in this market and they seem to have made moves with that in mind.

Right now I think the Knicks have most of the guys they were looking for:

1. According to reports, Jackson wanted to meet Hornaceck starting the coaching search but they couldn't meet until later. Jackson then signed Hornaceck to coach. Not a triangle guy, but will update it to modern use.

2. The Knicks explored the Rose deal long before making it, long before signing Hornaceck to coach. They not only made it, but got a young backup SG that they desperately needed and a 2nd round pick.

3. The Knicks wanted a center to replace Lopez. Rose wanted Noah in NY. Noah wanted to be in NY. Knicks signed Noah.

4. The Knicks wanted a shooting guard and prioritized on Lee. Noah wanted Lee. Knicks signed Lee.

5. The Knicks wanted a backup PG with starting talent. Jennings wanted to prove himself in NY. Knicks sign Jennings.

6. The Knicks scouted the Spanish League thoroughly. They liked Willy, bought a pick, selected him and stashed him a season ago. They wanted Willy this year. Willy wanted to play in the NBA. The Knicks sign Willy.

7. The Knicks scouted the Spanish League thoroughly for years. They have looked at Kuzminskas for a few years now (there is a P&T article of 2014 I think). They have space and a role for him now. The Knicks sign Kuzminskas.

I think they have gotten exactly what they wanted this offseason.

we were like 4-30 when he played, and those 4 wins came when afflalo was hurt in the beginning of the yr..I know he looked pretty decent once he got the starting position, but he made no one better arnd him when he was on the court, In fact everyone else played auwful

Roster filler not John Wall. Being a big brother and willing to do whatever at minimum can extend career of a mediocre vet

Hard to gauge how ready or good he is or isn't. Lakers worked him out then signed Deng. Hawks also worked him out and did not offer. The Knicks bought out his Turkey contract and supposedly used part of his room exception to sign, then another said 2/$6 guaranteed. Not chump change so they must see something, and believe that he will eventually contribute

He's already shown he can run with the big boys. I think Phil sees him in the Toni Kukoc / Derrick Williams type role off the bench. I predict he will be a solid rotation contributor off the bench next season.

Way whaaaaaaaaaa?!?

Maybe its just the fact that he reminds me of that awful PG rotation. Maybe I'd just like to have a young PG to develop. But I'd rather give the spot to Randle.

I would sign Sasha, Baker, and Randle. Why not have all three? We have the roster spots.

One of those spots needs to be a big man.

Even with Plumlee on board?

We have Noah, KP, KOQ, Hernangomez, Plumlee, and even Melo can play some PF... that's 5 traditional big men and Melo.

Signing Baker, Sasha, Randle would give us DRose, Jennings, Lee, Holiday, Sasha, Baker, Randle - so 7 guards.

Melo and Lance and Mindaugas are the three swing guys - I could see Mindaugas and Lance playing some small ball 4 minutes as well.

I think Randle and Baker get camp invites - but it is no lock either of them make the team.

DRose / Jennings / Randle
CLee / Holiday / Sasha / Baker
Melo / Lance / Mindaugas
KP / KOQ / Plumlee
Noah / Hernangomez

I think that's pretty balanced. But we'll see. It's only July - a long way til opening night. A lot change before that in terms of the team's opinion of Baker, Randle, Plumlee.

First of all i think a lot of people are expecting a lot from Willy "Billy" before we actually see him against NBA talent and he's gonna be more for defense then he'll be for offense and Plumlee probably won't even get off the bench and might be in Westchester so the only big we have that can give any kind of offense will be KOQ who freezes when he gets the ball under or around the basket but does have a decent outside shot even though he sometimes tries stretching it out too far and sometimes out to the 3 point line and he's also very inconsistent and doesn't rebound. I think D.Lee would be perfect for us but haven't heard his name connected to us at all and the only big man i've seen that we're interested in is D.Gooden. KOQ has lost some weight and could come in a different player but we won't know that until we actually see him.

SMDH! Since no one was holding Sasha out as the answer to all our problems, it's stupid to point out if he "made anyone better". He was doing the right things in terms of pushing the pace and getting the offense going. He can help others to see what to do, but they still have to get the job done themselves. Sasha can't shoot for others or do anything for someone else. Each player has to get it done on their own, but within the team concept.
