FYI, Tony Parker has played less than 70 games three out of the last four full seasons, Ginobili has a history of being hurt, and Kawhi Leonard has only one season where he played 70+ games.

On paper our first 5 can play with anyone in the league. If healthy and the team gels, it could be a very good team. Big ifs though.

Less risk than giving Alan Crabbe $70mm an hoping he becomes an NBA starter because now you are paying him too? Less risk than that?

I have to hope hes already as good as Courtney Lee? Well I wouldve rather paid more for the youth and size. I dont think he needs to prove hes better than Courtney Lee-just go back and look at the playoffs--hes better than Lee today. The 6 years younger represents how much better??

So you would pay another $40mm because Crabbe is an inch taller? Because he's NOT better than Lee by any measure. Oh by the way.. I just looked at the playoffs and he's still not a better player.

And Portland.. a team with Lilliard and McCollum, so they give huge money to Evan Turner rather than pay Crabbe. Maybe they weren't watching the playoffs either?

Your obsession with mediocre guys is nothing new... Rodney White, Shareef Adbul Rahim, Anthony Randolph... we can kind of do this all day.

I do get your logic Briggs... paying for a young up and coming guy, but you are just wrong on this guy. Maybe when he's scoring 15ppg a game en route to a 15 win season in NJ you can rub this in my face. Im sure you will post every night he's got a good shooting line.

Also his first 3 years in the league Lee was just as good a shooter as Crabbe.

I know you assume anyone that doesn't agree with you doesn't watch basketball or has been napping, but sorry dude. Crabbe is just another stupid NBA overpay. If think his playoff series justifies that you were did not watch Jerome James totally shred the Kings in the playoffs. THAT was a great performance.

The thing with Phil's moves is that he is balancing now with the future. He doesn't view the challenge as an 'OR' - win now OR tank. Rather, he sees the challenge as an 'AND' - win now AND build for the future. It's been years since we had a GM who could pull this off, maybe never (maybe Walsh before he was undermined by Dolan?). Fast forward four years, we have a) a veteran KP6 who has grown up in a winning culture, b) a team with a strong team-ball identity, c) tons of contracts coming off the books, d) additional 1st round picks on our roster, some of which will be quality, and e) new players who want to play in NY (Westbrook?). We are on the right path - how long has it been since we were on the right path?
The new new core: Randle, RJ, IQ. Maybe Mitch. Future pick. Future trade. Future FA.
Kudos to Phil
