In 2012 cap dollars, it's basically a $3M a year deal. It's a steal for him with how he defends and shoots the 3.
Well he's not a better player than Jennings who came cheaper. That's why I said what I said. Jennings has had his prima donna days but Phil Jackson / Jeff Hornacek need to be that father figure missing from his life kinda like JR. Jennings' dad committed suicide when he was young which explains some of his behavior. To get the best out of him, one of them will have to be that father for him. Does that information suddenly show Jennings in a more sympathetic light? Fact is that he is more talented than LT and got paid less.
I've been rooting hard for the Knicks to sign Jennings for months - http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=54340

That doesn't mean I can't root for the Knicks to sign Lance Thomas, too. I like both players a helluva lot.

Jennings is here on a "make good" deal. He's always wanted to be a Knick. If he does well here, I could see him being here for years. I'm thrilled with both guys - yesterday was my favorite Knicks free agency day in a while. Both guys took less than they could've gotten elsewhere to be here. This is a very good thing. No need to cast shade at either guy.

No one's casting shade. If by the 6 million is worth 3 mill a few years applies to LT then it applies to 5 million worth 2.5 for Jennings as well. Imo LT could probably have been had for cheaper. Unless someone comes out and says they offered LT 6 mill as well which he rejected. Right now we don't know what offers exactly he rejected.

He was supposedly offered contracts that were "slightly more than the Knicks could afford" by at least the Clippers and I think at least one other team. He did absolutely take less to stay with the Knicks. And it's not like the Clippers are a terrible team.

You see Fishy this brilliant sense of snarky wit is why I Love You (***pause***), No one else would dare acknowledge that if a guy like LT sees the leadership from Melo that maybe the hacks in the media dont see that maybe the rest of us who are NOT in the locker room can give it a rest.

My concern is why can't we have 30 pages on good guys like this vs wishful thinking guys trying to make it.

Especially after the KD move....LT decided to take a discount and stay home. I read on realgm and half of them said LT is over paid. Who's not?

my god, when you look at Lance's contract in the context of this offseason this is an incredible coup locking this guy up for cheap for 4 years. Totally agree with you.

And to anybody that says jennings is better....thats only on ps4 or ps3 (im outdated).

I will not be surprised if LTs impact on this team is higher than jennings. LTs impact doesnt always showup in the bix score.....same with noah who may get several hockey assist that never shows up....cant compare the two.....they bring different roles. Jennings is a scorer first....can he be a distributor first? Will he have defensive problems due to his size and achilles? We dont know. Question marks up a d down the roster.....

But i think LT signing was great for both him and the knicks.....same with jennings.

love em both.. especially at the price. The nice thing about the Lance signing is bold above, but even more. A glue guy only works if you have pieces worth gluing together. KP/Rose/Noah/Melo all bring unique thing they can do at a high level which is what makes Lance even more effective.

This is SO right on (!)

It's just great to have solid guys like Lance Thomas on good
contracts . . . so that you can trade them away for injured,
over the hill, I'll-only-play-if-I-feel-like-it point guards
when you get a chance.

he is better than bazemore. He is more like our shane battier.

I like Thomas a lot and he's a steal but . . . he's not quite Bazemore, much less Battier, yet :)
