I have an entire thread showing FINALS teams that have players over the age of 30 leading the way. This is not something advanced stats pay attention to. When it comes to winning a LOT of the teams that win Titles have aging stars at the core of them. It's not about peak production! It's about knowing how to win.

When you have an old team, you're putting the probabilities against you. Obviously, you're not making it impossible to win though.
The key is to look at both age and trajectory of the players. I doubt you can say those teams had players who were over 30 and on a sharp downward trajectory. The odds are further stacked against you if you can say both of those things about the players.

The trajectory aspect of what you're talking about may be greatly overstated. We will learn just how much Rose, Noah and Melo have left next season. There is decline in individual output to be sure but Phil is betting that they have enough left to win. Phil has won with older teams that had players who knew how to win. They weren't the same players physically as when they were younger but they understood how to win. That is what Phil is collecting. You put enough talented winning players together and they will figure out how to win games.

I don't think that will be enough. I hope fill hasn't lost his BSing skills, cuz Lee would be crazy to take that.

This twitter account may have been discredited. Some guys were saying stuff about it in another thread. Also, the same guy is saying the Knicks are trying to move O'Quinn.

From Begley,
Phil Jackson said that there are ways in which the Knicks can free up more cap space to sign players. He's likely referring to trading a player on the roster to a team that can absorb his salary into cap space. This would free up some more money for New York and my guess is that the Knicks may have to use this mechanism to sign Courtney Lee. They've offered Lee a four-year deal that's north of $10 million annually, according to sources. Lee has other offers, which are likely more lucrative, and he is considering them. Members of the organization - including Joakim Noah - would love to have Lee in New York, sources say. The Knicks also have interest in Austin Rivers, Eric Gordon and Jamal Crawford, among others, to fill their void at shooting guard.

Man this FA Market is TOUGH! Teams are just going big. As i've said in the past, the players have never been the problem with finances in the NBA. It's the cutthroat nature of the teams. Some team is always willing to overpay for a player and it just escalates salaries.

hahahahahaha

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

It sounds like the Rockets are making a push to sign Eric Gordon

based on what? have you looked at their respective win shares and made a prediction, or guess?

Yeah. There is a fake alex kennedy with the exact same picture. He tweeted the Nets got Wade last night and I had to check.
