Well lets remember what S.Mills said about them not wanting to waste time on players that they know won't sign with us so i'm sure Phil had Melo or Rose talk with Durant or he will have them talk to him to find out if it's even a real possibility for him to sign with us cause if not then they aren't even gonna have him come in for a interview. I did hear that Durant is having all of his meetings with these other teams in New York which seems odd so there could be a reason for that that we don't know.

Horford/KP/Melo is a better all around frontline anyway.

Durant and Melo are too similar. Need the ball in the same spot. Melo and KP should each be getting 15-20 shots a game and so should Rose. We do t need another high volume shooter.

It will be interesting to see if the Knicks go after horford or stay to 1 year contracts

Horford is at the top of my list of the centers out there i want with J.Noah right there with him. Both guys can play the 4 and the 5 which will be nice cause we can play KP at the 5 some depending on matchups.

"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

Didn't Tommy Dee say that Blatt was the Knicks coach and the contract would be signed "any day"

Dude makes up reports. If he's right, he looks good. Too bad for him he's usually wrong.

That's not true. Tommy is a good dude and is trying to build up his sources. Also Blatt was obviously someone the Knicks seriously considered. None of that means his source on this isn't factual. In fact to me it only makes sense that a FA would at the very least talk to NY. Especially after the Rose trade! Things change all the time in this game.

For what it is worth...Melo had dinner with KD yesterday according to Peter Vecsey in an interview on WFAN a short time ago.

After the Warriors and OKC, I think the Knicks have the same chance as any other team. The Clippers are a heated rival that can't beat okc or golden state as is. Durant would change that buts hard to see him going there. Miami? Bosh has blood clots and wade is getting old. The Spurs? Where would he fit? I can run down the line.

The Knicks have KP, Melo and Rose... all guys he likes. We have Phil Jackson leading meetings. Hornacek promising an open offense. I believe the Knicks just as much chance as any other team

You get hung up on a pipe dream then you start to rationalize. Most people do this, but it doesn't lead to good outcomes. You question how he fits in Spurs but then you say he should come here because of guys he likes and the question of fit, which is even worse with the Knicks with Melo playing the exact same position is somehow completely omitted?

That's Berman style reasoning..

Someone says the spurs will move Lenard to the 2 for Durant and it's ok.... I say Durant actually likes our best players and I get a poster calling me Berman....

The Knicks have slim chances but chances none the less....

I get how fans want to trash the idea so when he doesn't sign with the Knicks they can feel like they are geniuses. I want to use terms like psycho bitch girlfriend and sexually assaulted school bully to describe these type of fans but I don't want to come off like a Internet hooligan. I'll just say sit by the news stand for your basketball knowledge to come in fresh off the yellow truck

Durant can play with his buddies Rose and Melo and his favorite Unicorn KP. What's not to like about that?

Our presentation to Durant can be quite good.
With Porzingis we market a player who can be KDs number 1 big capable of 18-20 a night for the next 8 years. With Rose we market a player who has potential to return to an all star level and if not opens up cap room in 2017 to be replaced by Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook. Melo is a prime all star right now. With KD, Melo, Porzingis and Rose the Knicks are more talented a starting core than even the Cavs although they may not be able to win or have enough depth to beat Cleveland in 1st year together. With KP on his way up, a max slot in 2017, the Knicks would only be on their way up. KD would be aware of this. Then Phil can show KD what the Triangle did for similar dominant wing scorers like Jordan and Kobe.

This is a good situation for KD or any prime all star free agent. Problem is that Golden State is even better - the one reason someone may want to avoid Golden State is that it's jumping on a wagon. They have already won with Curry as the man. They are a finished product. How much credit would KD really get? In NY Durant would be the man, playing same role Lebron is in Cleveland. Melo is more of the 2nd option like Kyrie. Porzingis and Rose the 3rd/4th guys.

Yeah the NYK situation is much more pure. Why hitch on to the Warriors bandwagon when you can have your own situation in a Title Starved city like NY? You win one here and it's so much more special. Plus you get to win WITH YOUR BUDDIES!!!

The media has no clue what's going on.... it's not like it used to be. Melo had dinner with his boy Durant right after the Rose trade. Durant seems to be spending time in NY before they have to tend to their Olympic duties. All of a sudden a list comes out. Who leaked the list? Why would there be a list already? Teams are not allowed to contact Durant until July.... don't believe the hype.

Players contact each other. They all hang out. They all know each other's families. This isn't the 90s or early 2000s. Durant is familiar with Rose and Melo from playing with both in the Olympics and the FIBA world championship. He called KP a unicorn. That's what I believe. You mean to tell me Durant won't meet with the Knicks because some "source" said the Knicks weren't on the list? Give me a break.

It's not likely that Durant signs with the Knicks... but it's not likely he signs anywhere but okc. Every media outlet wants to use the Knicks as comedy relief. The truth is the Knicks do have a chance. Just as much chance add anyone else. Last season the Knicks missed the playoffs. They have Derrick Rose.... if they sign Durant the Knicks will absolutely make the playoffs. The Knicks only have 5 players under contract. They can't start the season with 6 players if Durant signs. It's safe to say the Knicks will have plenty players to choose from if Durant chooses us.
