I don't think they are trying to bamboozle someone into take a bad contract here. They just desperately need cap space to re-sign Al/Batum/Lin. Gotta cut salary somewhere, Lamb/Hawes are it. Courtney Lee is another name as well. They have a lot of pieces they need to deal with so it's not super surprising they're trying to get someone to take 1 of these 2 guys.

I would be interested in either scenario (prefer Lamb over Hawes but for the 22nd pick, I'd take either guy). What are we giving Charlotte though? Nothing? I was gonna say maybe we flip a resigned Langston Galloway but the whole point is they want to shed salary. Hey man, sign me up. Is Jeremy Lamb starting 2G material or what? Haven't seen him play in awhile..

This deal is a no brainer. EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

The 22nd pick in this draft is not worth paying a bad player 7 million dollars for the next 3 years. Hawes contract isn't that bad though I'd do it for him.

C.Lee is a target right?
Would it make sense for Charlotte and us to do a sign-and-trade with Lee/Pick #22/Hawes? Just a thought. Hawes is owed 5.8 mil this year and 6 next year. Not a huge salary cap hit and he would give a little depth. |

I dunno -- Lamb is still young and has some nice promise, no? Why are some of you not high on him anymore? I see he barely played in Charlotte's 1st round playoff series vs. Miami. I mean I like Courtney Lee as much as the next guy but I think I'd prefer a guy a good 7 years younger with a higher ceiling.. Nice young building block to go along with KP, no? I'm curious -- why no to Jeremy Lamb? Is it the new contract? $7mm/yr for a guy with his talent/upside seems reasonable esp. with the new cap.
