Buddy Heid at #4? Holy shizz... then there's pick 13? With Wroten and Grant out there? Holy shot

I'd rather get K.Dunn or B.Ingram but wouldn't be mad at drafting B.Hield.

Ingram is a lock for #2. This would be for the 4th pick.

Seems like Melo is more transparent about being a part of the NY culture than ever before.
Years past he seemed more in Malibu.

That trade extends the Cavs window by several years, and that is the last thing I want to see. It removes Irving as a threat to the Cavs in the East as well. Anyone but KP is untradeable IMO, but any deal has to make us competitive now, and down the road. I dont see this doing anything but getting us more trips to the draft. Tired of watching the team miss the playoffs. KP needs playoff experience, only way he is going to learn is to be part of them.

It was KP's rookie year and he's 20 so he has plenty of time to get playoff experience, we need to do what's right for our now and our future and that trade would be that.

That's a great trade for the Cavs. Carmelo is better than Love and Bledsoe is better than Irving when you look at their defense. I like the trade for the Knicks if Hield is available at 4. It would be a stupid move for the Suns. Love and Irving are fools gold - neither can play defense. Bledsoe's a stud.

Not excited about Len, Tucker or Goodwin. Would love to move them in a salary dump. BKnight and the 4 and 13 intrigue me. And the added cap space. Its really about what the 4 and 13 can produce. If I thought Bender could work next to KP6 it would create ridiculous mismatches. they seem very similar. Add a Derozan (22mm) and a possibly even Batum

It's a day dream, but am I crazy if I still want Melo to make it work here?

You know I gonna spin wit it

Building a team around Kyrie is similar to Building around Iverson. It's not easy because he needs the ball to be affective. That means you need a player with a good passing game willing to do the little things. Otherwise you have to hope Kyrie and mello scores 40 to win games.

No to Kyrie at this point in his career. Shoot first shoot second high usage undersized shooting guard that if he's not hitting his shots can't do anything else to impact the game.

Rather have the picks and gamble on Hield if that's the case with the 4th pick.

Don't particularly love those players but that's a nice young package of players and assets. Don't see Cleveland accepting though.

Bledsoe has 2 bad knees guys. I'm not sure Cleveland wants to move Kyrie for him.

Wow and we are just to hope that this won't kill any stability that we had worked so hard for?

What stability are you referring to? The 49-115 record the last 2 seasons? The lack of back court in...forever? Our 3rd coach in 3 seasons? Bringing a brand new pace and space system as opposed to the walk it up half court triangle we been used to? If shedding Melo and RoLo is that major to our new vision, you think Phil would move them? Sometimes you have to lose some baggage to steady the flight.

Not sure you're using stability in the right context.

I don't like this trade much. This draft class isn't good enough for me to take 4 and 13 and the player compensation doesn't make up for it.

Stability to Nalod is listening to an audiobook of the 11 rings while drinking a peach Martini all the while Kurt Rambis is giving him a back rub.

Not at all. I'm not afraid to call Melo my favorite player in the league (with Draymond Green and Boris Diaw a close 2nd and 3rd respectively). I find his offensive game/skillset to be very pleasing aesthically, especially as a guy who played both forward spots up until college. And the fact that Melo embraced NY at a time when not many would, leaves him with a special place in my heart as a fan.

But at the end of the day, I'm a bigger Knick fan than Melo fan. And I can't help but feel that if we keep him, it'd be a disaster because of his health. Hopefully we sign several hig free agents over the next two years because if we don't, I feel like we'll be stuck with Allan Houston 2.0.

It's all a matter of perspective because you can easily say that you're moving Melo for Kyrie. And if that's the case, I feel like the Cavs win the trade in a landslide. PG might be a bit of a concern for them but with Mo Williams in tow and with the ability to re-sign Matthew Dellavedova, I think they'd be fine especially knowing that LeBron is the true quarterback of that team. If it makes them feel any better though, they can take Archie Goodwin from us for a future pick; I wouldn't mind.

P.S., Eric Bledsoe is a client of CAA so you better believe that GM LeBron would want him.

You can find talent anywhere and in any draft. I said this in another post but guys like Giannis Antetoukounmpo, Michael Redd, Rudy Gobert, Dennis Schroder, Draymond Green and Jae Crowder were all selected with seemingly meaningless picks in "weak drafts". Needless to say, this draft will have its difference-makers.....we'd just have to be diligent in finding them. Personally, Hield at 4 would be a start.
