IMO Westbrook is a LOT like Harden. Who reminds me of an Allen Iverson type. Just surround them with defenders, shooters and finishers and let him do his thing. that's the only way it works with players like that. They are mostly effective WITH THE BALL.

im a durant fan but im not sure he fits here unless we move lopez or melo.

Um, I'd move anyone KD wanted me to if he were willing to come here!

We do need a shooting guard above all else.... but if you can get Durant? You make it work.

Do not bring up the Bull**** about being able to share the ball. The truth is great players figure it out. Bosh, Wade and LeBron... lebron,Kyrie and love.... KP, Paul Pierce and ray Allen... bird, McHale, parish.... magic, worthy, Kareem.

Besides, it's only one Melo and one durant.... they can get there no problem. KP, Jerian, and Wroten can feed off them.... it's fantastic actually. The Knicks problems were they were slow and couldn't score. Their defense was decent/mediocre. Durant would make them a contender with Hornacek as coach.

would be a stupendous addition on so many levels including filling out pipeline between Melo and KP. KD will still be a force when KP becomes one (not that he's shabby now, but i mean all star, all nba type player)

having said that i put the odds at near 0 though IMO we're the only destination that makes sense other than OKC -- which is where he will remain.

LAL is a sh1t show, with D'angelo russel showing the maturity of a moron and no one else exciting -- sorry Julius

makes no sense to go to SAS or GSW. Maybe if he were over 30 and desperate for a chip the way Barkley was at one point. But he doesn't want to go someplace no, where he won't be viewed as the key cog, and if he does want to go to a situation like that, then we don't want him anyway. We want someone who wants to be in NY at least as much as Melp and KP claim to want to

We do not need Durant at all, he would add very little to our team. Porzingis, Melo, and Durant all play virtually the same position and all occupy the same spaces on the floor. Yes, that's right, our two best players occupy the same role on a team as Kevin Durant. So why exactly do we need ANOTHER ball-dominant scoring forward? We need a top tier GUARD plain and simple. Chasing Durant because he's the sexy name will be the worst thing this franchise could do. We tried fitting a square peg in a round hole with the stat-melo pairing and it failed. Let's not make the same mistake twice of acquiring talent for talent's sake without actually thinking about how pieces fit together. Also, Durant was simply awful in this warriors series anyway, it's unclear whether he's still an mvp level player.

trust me. no need to worry. he'll say no to us first. lol

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

If OKC adds Evan Turner they become a championship team. They need a smart ball mover at sg and Turner really fits.

Yeah, I didn't mean I'd move KP. It was an overstatement.

The idea that Kevin Durant would ever even consider the Knicks is laughable. Moving on.

Then they could either trade Rolo for a guard or just keep him and he could still play 25/30 minutes off the bench. I know this isn't happening so don't get all crazy i'm just saying that if by some crazy chance we did somehow get him there is plenty of ways that everyone could still get plenty of floor time.

The problem isn't floor time, the problem is sharing the ball. By the time Melo and Durant get their touches you are looking at a repeat of OKC.

That's an excellent observation. I wonder if they make that move?

I actually think they would have less of a problem blending than you suggest. Melo and KD have been able to play with other top players and fall back a bit. I think the difference is that we will likely add more ball movers to the roster so that things would have the right balance. If you have KP, Melo and KD of course they'll take the majority of the shots tho.

He'd really help them. But I don't think they'll have much cap room if they pay Durant the max. I think they have $68M on the books and Durant's max is $25M. That takes them to $93M and the cap is supposed to be around $92-95.

I sort of think they may move Kanter to create some space though.

Phil is said to like Evan Turner and I think he'd be a good SG here. A Wroten / Turner backcourt? Can't shoot much, but Melo and KP can.

My take: Melo shot poorly last year and has few game winning shots. He's sliding as a player tends to do at 32. Upside is that he did pass the ball. KD could be attracted to the unicorn and Melo and NY. Stranger things can happen. Lopez should stay as he's your anchor and your Steve Adams, someone scrappy who doesn't need shots to impact. Grant and Weoten may prove talented yet both unproven. Neither possesses the ability to beep a defense honest by shooting a decent percentage from 3 (or two). Thus, KD goes from a "low IQ" pg in Westbrook to a "can't hit the J backcourt in nY. Seth Curry may be an answer yet we will have run out of $$$

I'd bet a large sum that KD is going to sign a one year so he can sign a bigger deal next year and he can be a UFA at the same time as Westbrook and Ibaka

http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/washington-wizards/report-agent-spoke-celtics-about-players-durant-would-want-brought?p=ya5nbcs&ocid=yahoo&yptr=yahoo

Butch Stears of WEEI had this to say on The Dennis & Callahan Morning Show on Monday:

I have this on pretty good authority. The Celtics have sat with his agent and other representatives of Durant. The Celtics do know, I don’t know who it is, but they do know who he would prefer to be brought here in a LeBron-Chris Bosh–Dwyane Wade-like way. Because that’s how it works in the NBA. You need to know who the guy or guys that that guy wants, which would be a factor. Now, I don’t know if Durant’s told them that. But the Celtics know. They know. They’ve been told what group of guys he would want to come here.

LOL how can the Knicks even consider signing Durant. They only have 19mill to play with. With what money people?!!

If anything he's signing a 1 year deal with OKC and getting a SUPERMAX contract when the cap balloons even more.

I think most assume Williams and Afflalo will opt out. If that is the case the Knicks will have closer to 30 mil in space. That's more realistic then signing a player to the max who doesn't address our core need (the backcourt) and wants to compete for a Championship.

Ever hear of the laws of attraction? If you keep thinking that way then nothing but negativity will ever come to the Knicks

I can't see KD landing in NY . . . no way.

However, if he is interested . . . I'd make it clear that I'd give OKC whatever they wanted, I'd give KD the max, and I'd hand over my first-born son.
