He wouldn't win with the Lakers. He would be on a rebuilding team again.
not they maxed out Durant and Whiteside also. Its the Lakers. Don't be suprised
I'm not sure if that's even a .500 team out West. What will they have around them besides a redundant "core"?
I don't know but there is not way that's not a .500 team. Melo/Whiteside/KD/Young/Williams is your starting 5, Randle/Nance + parts. Doesn't matter what we think. Its what Melo thinks. Hard to picture something like this happening after all the NYK for life stuff but there is always a spin
I still think MIA or LAC are our best bets to move Melo, though the former took a tremendous hit when Chris Bosh started getting blood clots. Time will tell but the best course of action remains a rebuild that jettisons Melo for some combination of quality picks and young players. And if the Lakers are willing to pony up that type of value for Melo (and Melo is dumb enough to accept), I'm all game.
I am holding out hope though that the Clippers are willing to move Blake and the Bulls, Jimmy Butler. That could provide the makings for an awesome 3 way deal, where the Clippers get Melo and Mirotic; the Bulls get Blake and the Knicks get Jimmy Butler. That move would allow us to remain competitive but young enough to build a perennial contender.
