As bad as it was to see MELO get surgery I have to say it would be worse if we had traded for Blake and this happened. Can't imagine what the NY Media would say about that.
griffin is 27.
Not my point. I'm saying the media would be all over Phil if he got hurt after trading for him. Shades of McDyess.
the mcdyess trade was terrible lets be honest. As big as a phil fan as you are if phil made that trade even you would have to be critical of it right?
Again my point is that if Phil had traded for Blake and he got injured the NY Media would have a field day with that comparing it to McDyess. They haven't even needed that kind of deal to take shots at Phil so giving them any ammunition would set them off. It's why I'm leery of Conley.
why so much concern about what the media thinks? Personally i dont care what the media says about the knicks positive or negative. I have my own judgments on the job phil is doing and where th e team is right now
NY Media is the largest and loudest. They can actually influence attitudes. In the past its motivated Dolan to get involved and I don't want that to happen. Constant bad press is not good. There hasn't even been an action taken and the Media is in attack mode, so I just imagined how they would attack if Phil traded for Blake and he got injured. The NY Media would spin it in the worst light.
its simple....win and the press will be more positive. Its the case for most nba teams. Phil is a all time great coach i have always said that. However as a executive the verdict is still up in the air. Dont worry if the knicks start winning then phil and the knicks Will get great press clippings. I dont think it influences free agents to be completely honest.
The press was positive for the first 40 games.
Exactly, and they were giving phil a lot of cred, and phil stayed completely under the radar.
