I would be fine with Thibs but let's be honest he's not the only coach you can win with. I know it's tough for some to take but Phil has his own method for how he wants the team run. One thing most seem not to have paid attention to is that Phil wants to be in synch with the Coach, which means he sees himself being here for a while! Otherwise why would he care about his relationship with the coach?
Seems to me that Phil loves doing this. The media keeps writing crap about him being unhappy and wanting to leave but the moves he keeps making show that he's fully into this and is sticking around.
phil wants to prove the triangle works (without the super super super duper superstars) and he can't do that if thibs (or alike) comes here and does it their way with their (current) system.
Triangle proof (of concept success) trumps everything else.
lets hire a cobol guy cause phil knows cobol. If the new guy knows how to use junit then how does phil deal with that? Phil don't know what the hell junit is? Gonna teach phil how to use git? Phil still puts his files in boxes.
so here is what phil is thinking ....
