how can we claim to have the worse cast around KP and Melo, to go with a coach who has the 5th worse record in NBA history, and blame trading melo will solve anything other than setting the franchise back 10 yrs.

When you say we can replace Melo with LBJ and get the same result I have to say you are just flat wrong--not even close. You know that. Why trade Melo now? Because youre at the end of the line where you can bring back a reasonable haul for him that will help the future. I want to trade him for guys 10 years younger that can be part of a team that builds with KP .. This team has NO chance zero is not happening with melo--so once you conceded that--you say let me sell here and get value while the value is reasonable or hold it and go down with the ship. Staying with Carmelo Anthony is a losing proposition. If he was 27 I wouldnt post this but hes not

In order to trade melo

1) get him to waive NTC
2) find a contender to trade him to
3) a contender that has young assets and cap space
4) a contender that is almost certain to have a low 27th pick
5) you think is going to agree to be traded to another lottery team
6) you almost certainly will have to accept a horrible contract coming back in any trade

The Knicks will take a massive step back, similar to the Ewing trade

Your willing to sacrife 10 years to get rid of a contract that expires in 3 yrs

Your willing to be a very bad team for 4 to 5 yes then watch Kp sign with contender as soon as he becomes a FA

Not true, the contending Celtics wanted to get talks going with Knicks reps and Melo's agent, but Melo would have none of that and squashed it immediately. We could've made out like bandits and he could've competed in a deep postseason run with maybe only the Cavs in his way!!!

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-knicks/post/_/id/64184/sources-celts-expressed-interest-in-melo-before-deadline

If the season ended on the morning of April 7, the Celtics would have the 4th-best lottery odds, and the following picks: 16th, 23rd or 24th, 31st, 35th, 46th, 52nd, and 58th.

Melo is ours and his own worst enemy.

The Melo train left the station.
We never get anything with him and we are not getting anything for him.
His contract has to naturally come to its end.
It will not set us back as we are already as down as we can be.
KP development with all huppla will not take less then 3 years so will be finding and developing other young players who can play along with him.
Melo is irrelevant as it can get. If he decided to ride the NY pine to the end it his and only his own problem.

Some on here will sacrifice anything to their Melohate.

1) We have one of the best defensive starting front lines in the NBA. But who really cares? You'll notice one of the most vocal melohaters in dkt7th isn't as nuts about trade the NTC, because he was preaching the importance of defense at the onset of the PJax era. (Either that, or he just has no interest in posting about another jv season.)
2) We have the rookie of the year, who even some of the worst of the deranged Melohaters post love threads about almost weekly. Said ROY has repeatedly stated the importance of Melo on the team.
3) The backcourt is the generally agreed most severe issue.
4) We endured a complete tear down for two years and now because no one sees us immediately winning a chip in the next three years, we should dump everything and rebuild for a 10 year plan. Like the Sixers.
