Boy doesn't that sound familiar. Same thing we are hearing about Melo today. When will we learn.

My point is there is no hindsight here. We are seeing Melo treated just like Ewing was. It was the same with Ewing. Some of us did not want to see him go and did not feel the need to move on from him. The fans drove him away though, blaming him for everything. We see how that worked out. It didn't offer great upside of trade him in that mess just for the sake of moving on, which is what some want to do with Melo just because he is an older player.
I doubt it was the fans though. If he was hearing that in the locker room though, that's a different story.
Pride is a terrible thing. He could have just accepted the veteran presence and gone out gracefully, but he couldn't or wouldn't.
I hated the trade then, I still hate it now. What was the result of moving on from Ewing? One of the worst pieces of shyt we ever received in a trade, and the lasting memory of:
