possibly but the NBA seems to be a Target for many european players even though many dont work out. We got lucky with KP. If willy turns out to be a luis scola type that many predict i would be satisfied

That would be an amazing get for a second round pick. Having KP, Grant and a Scola type coming out of one draft would be fantastic. I think probably one of the d leaguers Atkins, Thanasis, Trice or Bachynski is on the roster next year as well.

If Early becomes a rotation player you have a nice, young core.

Its one of the major differences in the Phil era compared the previous. Phil has looked to be more resourceful using all avenues to find gems. Things we haven't done to much in the past. Galloway from the D league, trading into the 2nd round to grab and stash Willie. Same for the french dude we drafted 2 yrs ago. Early and Thanasis with other 2nd rounders(albet from the Tyson trade). Not saying that all or any of these players are going to be studs or even anything in this league. But its huge that we continue this process. If any of them do hit then you added major value without giving up anything. Say Willie becomes starter material in 2 yrs capable of making Lopez moveable. Now we would be able to deal Lopez from a position of strength and flip him for something else. Turning a 2nd round pick into a upgrade on the team. Or moving Willie for quality first round pick or young player. If not KP/Lopez/Willy forming a strong front court rotation for yrs to come would work as well. Same principals for Early. And you don't need to start from scratch in order to maintain this process.

Do you see what Tobias is doing now? I'm trying to free these players from Skiles. Oladipo and Grant aka O.G. back court.

Yes. Great call on that btw. Seems that Orlando maybe the worst analytics franchise. On the other hand SVG is really doing a great job and he gets it. We need a coach like him.

Maybe, I was ready an article before Tobias was traded detailing how he was one of the best ball handler on PnR but he didn't get that many opps. I wonder what they use to scout and analyze because how do they not get back a draft pick for Tobias.

Anyway, Orlando is a team Phil should deal with because they might not be the brightest Front office. If Vlade stays in Sac Town and them to the mic too.

Big offseason for Phil to show he understands the importance of the perimeter weaknesses. It'll tell us a lot about him as an executive.

If we can finish these last 10/11 games playing the way we played against the Bulls or at least close to it it will be a huge help for the way free agents look at us.

Agreed. It's a huge vote of confidence in the 1-2 punch of Melo and KP when it's clicking. When both play like stars at the same time, this is a good team.

Lets not leave Rolo out who deserves a ton of respect for what he's done for us and deserves some apologies from some certain people on here. Our front court is set.

Ummmmmmm i'm gonna have to step in on this one and give myself some pats on the back because i said KP would be productive in his first year. Standing ovation.....clap clap clap

i dont think apologies are necessary. He struggled in the first half but has played really well in the second half of the year. Like anything when you play well you get praise when you struggle you get some criticism

I don't think he struggled at all, he gave us what we thought he'd give us which was defense, rebounding, boxing out but now he's just giving us something nobody expected which is some pretty darn good offense but he never really struggled.

Yeah...I don't think he struggled, either...he just emerged as an effective offensive player as his confidence grew and the coaches and team gave him more opportunities on the offensive end.

For the month of November he shot 41% and had a TS of 45%. For 6.6pts, 6.5rebs and a 95 offensive rating. In Dec he averaged 4.5 rebs per game. He started to put it all together though in Jan.

Yeah everything we're getting from him on the offensive end is a surprise and a pleasant surprise but he's been giving us good minutes on the defensive end all year, it was just that some people on here wanted more from him so they kept saying we overpaid for him but his contract is a bargain with what he's given us this year and especially since the all star break.

But if you watched all the games then you would know that one of the things he did best was boxing out for other guys to get the rebounds. So he put his own stats aside for others to get the boards which is the kind of player every team should want.

I know, it was the big argument earlier in the yr. He still boxes out well and has still been able to grab 7-10 rebs from Jan-Dec. I have no problem with Lopez as a player. But when we signed him at 13-14mil per. I hoped for more then what he was producing at the time. Glad for his offensive growth. Hope he becomes a little more consistent. But all and all he had been a good pickup for us this season.

Oh yeah he definitely has had his bad games for sure but he's overcome those with some very strong play on both ends of the court. I don't even know why we're talking about how he played early in the season cause we should all be ecstatic with what he's turned into for us and i think we all or most are very happy with him and very happy with our front court of Melo, Kp and Rolo and Rolo is only like 26/27 years old so we have our center locked up for the next 3 years and he genuinely loves New York and wanted to be here so i'm sure he'll be ready to re-sign after his contract is up if that's what we want.

All 3 spots need help. We're really good at C/PF, especially when you consider that Melo can play 4 and KP can play 5. Big offseason for Phil to show he understands the importance of the perimeter weaknesses. It'll tell us a lot about him as an executive.

I wonder if this will allow us to trade O'Quinn as well.

I think they will explore it. I also think the Knicks should look at bringing in Bachynski.
