And they should be from countries ranked 7-8-9 in GNP with a economic growth rate 5-10%

Or maybe only from teams seeded between 10-15 in the tournament?

Perhaps your beloved, Denzel Valentine?
Btw, how did he do in the NCAA tourney?
We will be guaranteed to score 80 points a night.

If we can trade Melo Id be looking for one of ( high pick Murray or Hield) (mid range GraySon Allen or Valentine) 2 2's ( 2 of Brogdon Gbinjie Felder Bembry McCllelan) I think we can change the complexity of the team for 10 years in a well executed trade.

Its obvious when Melo sits out, we are not as good as when he plays. Brilliant!!!!!
Its obvious when you have 10 college games on this past 4 days and see all kinds of good players. Brilliant.
Its obvious Melo is not happy.
Its obvious knicks need to make a big splash in free agency, which is always a rare occurance.
Its obvious this is all being scripted since the all star break.

Melo and most teams don't like big in season trades. Unless phil has something up his sleave I'd be fairly confident that what ever happens this summer is already in place but we are not privy to it.
Melo and knicks are making a good show of it making it a "Brand Friendly" departure. The seeds are being planted now. Same thing in OKC with Durant. IM not saying he is leaving or staying but the route is already determined on how it plays out. WE can all guess, and its all we'll be doing.

Nalod need not plead to the UK faithful to trade Melo, its really not on us. I'd like to see a scenario where there is not contention in the PHil Jax era (unless he extends his contract) if we:

Trade Melo for picks and some decent contracts. Next year keep the pick, then we are restocked but have to still develop yoots.

There is not visible path in this theory but that does not mean it can't happen. We just don't see things going forward.

I think we have pieces in place w KP Lopez and Grant. IF we can execute a trade where we give up Melo for a combination of 2 1's and 2 2s and one good young player--with our draft pick and cap space NEXT year--we can change the complexity of the team for years. We would then have a bunch of 20-24 year old legs with Willy G KP Lopez and Oquinn. We ALREADY have the young bigs which is the hard part--we DO NOT need Melo--we need to restructure the team--get it younger--with smart diversified guards.

With Melo its history--the big trade gave us one season--its done. We dont have enough to EVER beat top tier teams

Trading melo doesn't guarantee we get all these players. I do agree we should trade Melo, but he's not the problem. If we keep Melo, he's still a great player. The team needs more skilled athletes with some shooting touch. We can all get that via free agency. Two good guard up grades added to a potentially much improved Grant and a healthy Wroten and the Knicks are back. Trading Melo isn't the only solution, but either way works for us....

Would need a proven NBA All Star level guy with two high firat rounders. No 2nd rounders, as they have even less success rate. Butagain, why give up an All Star that can still contribute and wants to be here. Improving the roster does not mandate trading him.

I agree.

I think the advantage of trading Melo is perhaps you keep us out of the mediocre trap - where you're good enough to avoid a high pick, and not bad enough to get a good pick.

I like the talent Phil was able to bring in, but clearly, its not enough.

And the target we are working towards needs to be 3-5 years out, not next year.

It's obvious watching game. Trade melo
