The problem is the frontline just doesn't work the way its constructed 1 of them has to go. I don't want to trade Rolo but it is the only scenario that seems plausible.Start Porzingis at the 5 Melo at the 4 and get an athletic wing. I would rather move Melo but it doesn't seem likely

If they're each going to play only 27 min a game, it doesn't matter if they fit together. Managing those 2 players' minutes better makes more sense than trading away 1 of the only 2 good players Phil has ever added.
However, they fit pretty well on defense. KP's #s are worse with Rolo off the court anyway. His scoring is slightly better but his rebounding is really bad.

No wiping, just standing squat and let the crumbs fall where they may. If you get splash back so be it.

he's a long ways away from being a consistent impact player, there are times he looks total disengaged.

The energy and leadership on this team is soooo lacking, rambust is such an assistant, can't believe phil said this guy was like his defensive coordinator.

We cant beat anyone over 500, and don't tell me it's the talent, when we were beating our fair share of them early this yr.

As soon as the full scouting report was out on KP, it's been pretty much a wrap for him.

Id definitely move KP to unit 2 with reduced minutes. I think hes physically shot and would benefit from going against 2nd line players where he can can more post out to 12 feet(no more than 24-26 minutes tops). Right now he should really try to focus on staying away from 26 feet other than something where hes a trailer.

Id probably try something like this

C-Lopez
F-Anthony
G Grant
G Affalo
G -Galloway

C KP
F D Williams
G Sasha
G Calderon
G Early

Try to spread the offense out a bit more and get both Lopez and

KP space down low while opening up some lanes for the guards. We dont space well and that takes away on both ends.

WE need guards in the draft and free agency and we need to move away from playing 3 big guys. Lopez and Anthony are big enough on unit 1 and KP and Williams are big enough on unit 2. We just dont have the player or ball movement on either end that wins games.

Eh, we're still going to be a .400 team with that lineup.

We have what we have right now. Actually the whole guard 1st unit would not be a bad second unit. Now we just need 3 guys 6-7 --6-0 who can really play for unit 1:)

This happens when you build your team through free agency, before the draft. If it was the other way around, I don't think Phil would've picked up the same free agents.

This also happens when you start a rookie from scratch.....Especially when you put a 7'3 rookie into a starting PF role, without really understanding where he fits in.

KP isn't an ordinary american born player. He doesn't poop like us. Their toilets flush counter clock wise!

He should've been off the bench from day one. The bench started the season with high energy, and KP should've been part of that energy. It would've been good for his development.

Instead of surrounding him with slow foot players like Rolo, Melo, Jose, AA

So I'm not surprised in his development! Lets just hope next season, they find a role for him that better suits his impact on the game!

KP has the stamina of a 9 year old fat kid at field day, he is not a high energy player. He is not a number one option on a consistent basis, he is just a rookie having ups in downs while suffering through health issues.

Steph Curry would've been traded for Melo, if we drafted him, because of his lack of defense and Jamal Crawford / JR Smith 1 on 1 three point shots from half court.....

I'm starting to think NY is like poison ivy for rookies. We've been losing for so long, this environment has become toxic.

That starting lineup is great if Melo can just score 60-70 points a game. And your three starting guards have to try to hold their men to about 30 a piece...

Pro tip: put a couple of sheets of TP down on the water surface before squatting. It cushions the plop and prevents splashback.

Then wipe yo nasty ass!

yeah, after the 1st 30 games this kid has been good for 10 minutes per game..part of it is definitely the coach staff, just not good with development........especially rambust

Kid is 20. He will only get physically stronger and hopefuly work more on his inside game and moving without the ball. Including setting more picks and rolling to basket.

But for right now, would agree, it may be better for him in the 2nd unit. Been saying DWill is a better fit with 1st unit as he is more active without the ball, better cuts of double teams, prefers drive vs settling for jumper, and draws fouls going strong to the hoop. Good things to have when you have guys like Melo and Rolo in low post position. Something KP will learn to do. With KP in first unit you have KP, Afflalo and Calderon just standing still at 3pt line a bit too often. May also give KP more of an opportunity to work on his low post game without Melo or Rolo with him in the 2nd unit. Although, would have him at the 4 as he seems to get pushed around pretty easily against other 5's.
