Jimmer also was the knick that went to the line the most. I only saw snippets of the game but some of that may have been to how the game was called.

4 points in junk time are huge...

How many times did the other knick guards get take free throws? I am not sure that Jimmer is an nba player but to disregard the inability of the knick guards to draw fouls is missing a huge part of what is wrong with this team.

I feel the same - not sure he's an NBA guard... but he brings things we don't have... and it woulda been nice to play him.

This is the problem with bringing in Rambis and making him think if he wins games he has a chance to be the head coach.

He's doing what he did in Minnesota - where Ryan Gomes led the team in minutes while Kevin Love rotted on the bench because he didn't get the precepts of the holy triangle.

That is scary. The Knicks need to use that 15th spot and maybe create another spot to find a player if possible. They need back court help. There are guys out there. Also, Christian Wood has put up some big numbers in the d l. He is only 20. Grabbing him might be a positive as well.

Yes. You want to see this guy in game. Not practice. The game.

the point was to appease the fans...most of us here knew he wasnt good enough to deserve time on the court
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

...to make all our other guards feel better about themselves offensively during practice. Really wish we could see some vids of what went on in practice over the past 10 days.

I also really just think Rambis didn't want to add insult to his already injurious tenure by having some gimmick light up the court.

It's sad because his cult following makes him a distraction. He never had a chance. If we were losing, he will get chants every game. If he scores and gets on a roll, he will be treated in a way that will create problems in the locker room. He is treated as a side-show and especially in NY that makes it unworkable. He is already Jeremy Lin before he even steps on the court, and we know how that turned out.

Saw an article today from Mike Vaccaro in the Post re: the Jimmer chants titled "Jimmer Fredette chants are a new low at MSG" online, and "Jimmer chants sign of the times" in the print edition, with "Garden chants have gone from inspiring to downright sad" as the URL slug! (Pick an angle, guys)

http://nypost.com/2016/03/02/garden-chants-have-gone-from-inspiring-to-downright-sad/

Actually, if Fredette were from Glen Cove and not Glens Falls, maybe this would be easier to accept. But Glens Falls is 200 miles away from Penn Plaza. Harrisburg, Pa., is closer. So is Wilmington, Del. The Garden has no attachment to Fredette other than the most important one:

He isn't Jose Calderon.
He isn't Sasha Vujacic.

Interesting but kind of a weird take, particularly with the "this is not his hometown" angle. It says "New York" on the jersey and the guy comes from New York State and grew up a Knicks fan. The guy led the NCAA in scoring and won a ton of trophies in college during Jimmermania, and had a nice game against us a couple years ago.

Fans know it's probably the last chance to see the kid as a Knick and yea, are tired of seeing Jose and Sasha if they aren't going to help us win. We been watching those guys for a decade. He was just the D-League MVP with the Westchester affiliate, and last I checked, that's closer than Harrisburg. Add to it the love for the underdog, I don't know... I probably would have joined in on the chant... does that make me an *******? Or just trying to have some fun at a game that isn't that fun as a Knicks fan?

I don't know, it does seem like he's a victim of his earlier success and it's a shame that he's now just another member of a constantly growing ignoble fraternity of ex-Knicks.

Maybe it also has to do with Westchester? I mean what's the point of the D-League if you go in there, do your job, become MVP, and you don't at least get a call up?

They used that guy up. I believe they said they were only drafting him for his popularity...not as a player.

I feel bad for the guy. I wonder how they use him if he goes back down.

If he was used after he got called up and failed then there wouldn't have been any more chants. If he would have succeeded we'd all be cheering. Very poorly handled!
