Irving is a SG in a PG body.....need to see how Philly built a team around AI.....need a tall or defensive PG for it to work......Lebron is the point forward so it works. But if Lebron was Melo....it wouldnt work.

anyway let me paint this picture:

Melo for Kyrie Irving on draft night.

Kevin Durant signs with the Knicks.

That's it....

let it marinate. It's pretty seemless. Cleveland has internal problems with the roster. They could revamp the team and go for it with Lebron and Melo. They can trade Love for a proper 3rd piece to go with Lebron and Melo.

ok bye

No, thanks. He plays no defense. He can score and has an entertaining handle, but he won't do even as much as Melo to help NYK win. I greatly prefer trading Melo for yoots and picks, and NOT because I don't like him. It's just that his timing doesn't line up well with KP's, so may as well optimize his value for us.

I'm a gambler and wouldn't mind Irving on this team if we gave up no assets to acquire him. But giving up Melo for him is simply a losing bet (presuming that Melo would even want to go there).

Irving isn't the floor general I expected him to be but the triangle does create shot opportunities for teams that lack such a facilitator and gets ball dominant guards like Irving to move the ball. The guy is still a deadly shooter and if I recall correctly, was as good as Parker was a couple years ago at getting into the paint and finishing. That skillset should more than intrigue us as a team that lacks any discernible talent at either guard spot. The question remains though, what do we get CLE other than Melo? Can we acquire assets with Robin Lopez and Jerian Grant that could pique CLEs interest? LMAO, would Lopez, Grant and an Afflalo get the deal done straight-up?

kyrie has been breaking down since high school

Didn't he play like one game at Duke or something crazy like that and then entered the draft the next year??

Well you can win with Melo if we had multiple stars but he's never had multiple stars to play with......he's never had one star to play with.

Love to Boston
Blake Griffin and Jose :) to Cleveland
Melo to Clips
Irving and Boston's pick from Bkyln to NY

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Played about 10. Thought was he'd be a top pick out of high school.
He is Baron Davis but don't like to pass.

If I was in charge of the Knicks I would trade for him if I could. A very nice cost controlled contract for the next 3 years and he has not hit his prime.
