Yes Harrison is a sf and I like his game. Batum's passing would be really welcome here. And both would be getting near or at their peak as melo declines. I also think each could play the 2 in certain situations.

I know sf is not a true position of need like our back court but most of the FA guards are meh to meh+ this next season. Still a upgrade over our current situation but Id rather keep the money for better talent. DeroZan is a talent but not sure about his decision making.

Yeah Matt Barnes was the first name that popped into my head haha

I like the idea of adding multiple wings this offseason. I literally do not watch many teams outside of Knicks so it's hard for me to guess at what players will be like outside of stats. I like the idea of adding guys that are mid twenties. I am OK with adding wing players that are non PGs next year and focus on Westbrook the next.

Jeremy Lin please. He would be a perfect player to have with KP.

No retreads, please. He'd be a good bench addition, but not as a starter.

I'd target:

Mosgov
Toney Douglas
David Lee
Lin
JR Smith
Copeland
Felton

I didn't realize that Lin had an opt out. I wouldn't mind Lin but I'd also guess that this is a Dolan level call.

Man... I looked at the list assuming there would be players that I would be interested in... there's nothing, especially at SG. Some options at PG but not many outside the "top" tier

Thats why I felt we needed to trade for one at the deadline. It's not easy building a team.

EVAN TURNER is a team guy with great court vision, passing, and slashing ability.
He's gonna get paid, though.

It's very hard to speculate until we know if Melo will be here or not. Also now much cap we will or won't have

Yep its bad, Batum is one of the few players I like and he really should be at SF. No one is coming here thats going to make a difference thats why I want to get as many picks as possible and build a young core.

I think any discussion of Clarkson needs to be worked out between Jeannie and Phil. Unlikely. I like turner. And i like Fournier over Batum due to age and price.

I like Clarkson too. He has an attacking instinct. We don't have enough guys that attack. I'm not sold on Batum either. Everyone wants him now but forgot when he forgot how to play his last year in Portland. I don't want a guy like that.

I dont watch Butum much and it does seem like his shot is underwhelming. Thing I like about him is rebound and assists.

Batum and Kemba Walker were on NBA Gametime show yesterday and Batum was talking about how much he loves playing for Charlotte and how they have a really young team of players under 27 and how they have a great future. Now i know that players have to talk a certain way to the media but he really sounds like he loves being there and i don't think he's planning on signing elsewhere in the off season.

It's about the 5 minute mark where he talks about the team and how he loves playing there if anyone wants to listen.

I think everyone likes Clarkson but he's a RFA free agent and the Lakers will have a ton of money to spend so i don't see them letting him get away at all.

Wow. those lists are very sobering

Batum and perhaps Barnes
head my list as perhaps attainable and would really contribute (KD would be my dream -- but likely to remain a fantasy). Of the two I prefer Batum because of his passing

A bit of a wild card is Evan Turner. Playing well recently with Boston and could perhaps thrive in a triangle (not an outside shooter, can pass and slash). I know someone, who knows someone, though, who said his teammates at Ohio STate absolutely hated him. Not sure if he's still a prima donna head case. Also with all of Boston's young players and draft picks i can't seem them plunking down $$$ to keep him

PG is so, so weak. Honestly, when you look at this list, you have to give Phil credit for getting Grant. He's better than a lot of the FAs and shows the importance of developing talent especially at pg. I am not a Conley fan because of his age, length, and his likely big contract. Something like his current contract i'm ok, but we'll still complain on the tail end of the deal.

Perhaps we use a similar strategy to this year, and go for a short term, cheaper deal: Sessions, Sloan or Neal. My primary goal would be to stop the penetration

Barnes?

Probably Harrison Barnes who'll be a RFA this Summer.

If Melo leaves I could see Phil trying to get Barnes with whatever space they have (cause GS can't keep everybody) and seeing if that is enough to entice Walton to come over. If Melo doesn't leave I really doubt they go after Barnes.

Honestly if Melo leave Phil might be able to get Barnes and another top FA as well too.

The algorithm gives and the algorithm takes away
