It's not an offense that MUST have a Pure PG tho you can do well with one. It's better if you have skilled Combo Guards or SG's that can Shoot, Drive and Pass at a good level. Not a FA until 2017. He's set to make over 980k next yr guaranteed. Interesting because he was in the same draft as Cleanthony Early and Early's a FA for us after this season. Smart move by DET giving this kid an extra yr... Was just reading before that he suffered some kind of ankle injury just before the DL all-star break -- he's been recalled by the Pistons to rehab and be around the team at practices. Once he's 100%, then it's back to the DL. If you read the article, you really get the feeling they still don't know what to do with this kid http://www.detroitbadboys.com/2016/2/10/10957862/spencer-dinwiddie-recalled-from-drive-ankle-injury. Definitely could've used him in their last game before the break--Reggie Jackson and KCP were both out of the lineup--he could've filled in at either position...The Pistons are right there in the playoff picture -- you wonder if they could use a guy like Seraphin for some post offense next to Drummond (Baynes is really a banger, Tolliver is more of a perimeter 4 and Joel Anthony doesn't play) or maybe they could use Afflalo -- they look to be a little thin at the 2 behind Pope. Something like Afflalo or Afflalo/Seraphin for Dinwiddie/Reggie Bullock/2nd rounder might work.. |
