Melos clock ticking if he wants to win a championship.. Knicks team needs lots of work to be considered a title contender.

By the time it happens, Melo won't be the melo... It will too late and he'll be like 35 yrs old or older.. You have to get rid of melo soon and convince him to waive his no trade clause, get younger and make this porzingis team who is only 20 yrs old..

The Future. GO KNICKS!

Because He Has a No Trade Clause?

During Melo's prime here, he's not the player an overly vocal minority here can stand, so he should be traded, or sign with Chicago, or Houston or Anywhere. Forget we were going nowhere fast before he came here.

Melo's now playing like even the vocal minority had wished for, and now it's time to unload him for the purely altruistic basketball reason that he would be happier and more likely to win a chip anywhere else but here.

The "true knicks fan" mindset lives on...

I do think you go too far with the melo protection. The truth is 95% of fans have been VERY HAPPY with melo this season. We don't want to trade him but it makes sense for both sides. We still are in a rebuilding stage and melo can get the opportunity to win a title. So this isn't a melo bashing thread its simply a win win situation for melo and the knicks. Either way I have given Melo a ton of props this season

Summer may make sense for us, but less so for Clevland. That's one less run at a title for them. If that's what would be driving the deal, then there's a premium to do it now, meaning we might get more for Melo now than in the Summer.

Umm, dude, simple question about your "truth"; if WE don't want to trade him, why do WE see all these trade Melo threads?
Hoping to trade one of the best players we've had in decades is not akin to bashing him. Check.

"No, really bro, I think your sister is a great person, I just...know she would be happier... with someone... else..."

Give a player a ton of props, BUT chirp about trading him because it's a win for the franchise. Got it.

Sorry for this interruption of quality franchise rebuilding.

Simple: Melo's hope of winning in New York is worth more to him than the hope of winning elsewhere.

That's a good thing, right?

Joining the Cavs guarantees only one thing: a move to Ohio. Certainly doesn't guarantee a championship.

Do we want players who want to be Knicks and can handle New York pressure or not?

No, WE want anything but Melo! WE all know Melo's selfish won't play defense isn't a leader won't defer to anyone isn't the mentor type a bad teammate...

Oh wait, we now know that all along, during his entire career, Melo doesn't want to WIN! What a DOUCHE!

Oh yeah, and he doesn't know how to flop!

Perspective:

Melo: Play for contender in the city of his choice. Team must be in contending status AFTER the trade.
Phil/Knicks: Get in return a package that fulfills out needs regarding upside potential.
Dolan/Knicks: same as phil but its a business and ratings are good with Melo. Might be on board if right deal is presented.
Celtics: Add Kevin love and have assets in place to contend and still grow.
Cleveland: Adding Melo the final piece? Chemistry with Lebron not a problem, its Kyrie. its big man depth on the front line.
Knick Fan: Conceptual draft pick vs. reality or potential for draft bust. Upside potential but many fans don't really understand patience is more than half a season.
Fans love "change" but "improvement" is not always a result.
Knicksfan99: Any deal must include Jose's exile!!

Nalod actually thinks Jose would be an improvement than Dellevadova and a Melo/Jose combo to Cleveland is a good one for them. In return Nalod wants that Brooklyn pick, Avery Bradly or Marcus Smart, David Lee (for old times sake and he is going to be cap fodder anyway) and what ever makes sense after that.

I thought Melo to Miami was in the realm of reality until Bosh clots occurred again. Regarding Griffin, Not high on my list but if PHil thinks he is the man, then I'll defer to him as a better judge of talent.

Melo to Cleveland? From Melo's perspective on the court it should be considered and perhaps he discussed over the allstar weekend. From La La's perspective its about where she wants to live. Melo is a dad and he wants his kid where he is happy and as a dad wants to be with his son. We talking about peoples lives here.

OMG the Melo needs to learn to flop thing, I forgot about that. Ugh.

Maybe if we wait it out Knicks fans will finally start supporting the Knicks the right way and become TheseKnicksFans I been waiting for. A less selfish DadKnicksFan if you will.

Have you been to Cleveland ? It's defiantly one of the top ten most ugly city's in America, with zero going on. The cavs are just lucky that Lebron is from Ohio and they scored the #1 pick in me rind draft year...when Lebron is gone the cavs will be right back to the garbage pile of the league.
