perhaps...lol. i TRY not to fall for these but i respect Isola so i read it. it all means NOTHING unless melo waives that damn no trade clause

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Intriguing stuff...my gut feeling is that there is a ring of truth to it.

This has Lebron's fingerprints on it, IMO.

Have to figure he is desperate to win another title, and doesn't think Love can help him get it. The losses to GS were wake-up calls, no doubt.

He's great friends with Carmelo, and you figure he threw the idea out to Melo after Fisher got canned. James gets a player he trusts and respects, while Anthony can be the great complimentary player that he is when on our National teams.

Celtics have a pretty good group of players, and they seem to believe that Love can still be a valuable player.

I'd want Brooklyn's pick and a #1 for the next draft, and some of their 2nd round picks. I assume that we would also have to take back some contracts...No?

This trade sounds plausible, and it sounds like it centers around GS' greatness, James not loving Love, and Anthony's desperation with his situation.

To dismiss this rumor outright would be foolish.

I agree. Also, I think Melo is a bit underrated here. Thibs said he and the other Olympic coaches laugh at the criticisms f him and called him a killer. I think Melo instantly bumps the Cavs into contenders to beat the spurs/warriors.

LeBron is the De Facto GM so he has the juice to force the issue. I agree that they're desperate to unload Love. Would be interested in what draft picks we would get. More than one first rounder I hope. Mosgov would do the dirty work when Lopez sits. None of our bigs on the bench have shown they can do the job with any consistency.

This is the best chance Phil will get to stockpile some picks, high ones anyway. Hope he takes advantage if there is a very good deal to be had. Melo's knees give me agita.

If there is any ounce of truth to this, it means Phil is fully intent on trading Melo for longterm assets. However he can not assure Melo himself will accept a trade. He has a no trade clause.

I would love to get this years Brooklyn pick and the Boston pick next year with the swap rights for Brooklyn. 2017 Draft is suppose to be a much better draft than the 2016 draft with Josh Jackson and Jayson Tatum and Harry Giles along with a bunch of good pgs. Imagine getting Brandon Ingram in this draft with this years Brooklyn pick and getting the next year swap right of Brooklyn and getting a Josh Jackson or Jayson Tatum along to go with our own 2017 pick.

Knicks 2017 Draft Pick
Josh Jackson/Jayson Tatum(Nets 2017 Pick)
Brandon Ingram(Nets 2016 Pick)
KPorzingis

That would be one hell of a young talented nucleus that would fit and compliment each other as well. But it is all a pipe dream.

That's understood. Its one of the few places Melo would likely agree to as a destination.

I doubt we are getting the Nets pick. I bet its Cleveland's future late 1st rd picks. The best we can hope for is that they are unprotected. Maybe some Boston picks but not this years first when they have a shot at Simmons. I'm fine either way. This is about hitting the reset button and doing it in a realistic manor. I'm sure people thought we'd get more than the 60th pick in 2019 for Shumpert & JR too

Melo and either Lance or Lou to Cleveland

Love to Boston

Knicks get David Lee (huge expiring), Mozgov (expiring),Marcus Smart, a #1 pick from Boston and a second rounder from Cleveland.

That works for me!

There's no way the Knicks are doing this without the one of the Nets pick in the deal. I doubt or hope I should say Phil would trade Melo for expiring and late first round picks with little value. If Boston wants to hold onto the Nets 2016 pick they better give up the Dallas pick and the Nets 2017 pick which is an even better class than the 2016 draft with Josh Jackson(who is the next Tracy McGrady) and Jayson Tatum and Harry Gile(next Chris Webber).

Agree about the late first round picks. Want the chance for Phil (and Gaines) to find a starter(s) to run with KP, not bench players.

There's no way we're giving up Melo without getting something of reasonable value back and there's no way Boston's getting a Love or any other star player without giving up something of value.

Yep! This trade makes a ton of sense. I wonder if we'd be able to flip Mozgov or Lee to another team that needs front court help.

if mozgov is the back up we can trade seraphin and/or koq for back court help or more second round pick

anyone see the Frankie Ice (Isola) article? [CLE, BOS, Melo rumor]
