Hahahahahaha just our luck. That would fall right in line with he too 10 Knick disasters in the last 15yrs. Actually that even tips the Mcdyess trade, letting Lin go, giving H20 7yrs $100mil, trading [Steph]Curry or Noah/Aldridge and not insuring Amare

+1
with a slight fix, just in case someone thinks you loved Eddie.

I applaud your maturity for not mentioning "The Trade". While I tout my own immaturity for mentioning that you didn't mention it.

Eddy Curry. Steph Curry was another screw up as Dantoni & Walsh broadcast to the entire league that we were taking him. GS swoops in at 6 and we get Jordan Hill at 7. A colossal blunder but much further down the list

How did that work anyway? They picked before us. We were trying to move up in the draft, so it was no secret. But really, you think GSW was like "UH,I DUNNO? KNICKS WANT CURRY, SO DAT MEAN HE GOOD SO MAYBE WE SHOULD TAKE HIM?"

So how did we blunder?

Regarding Russell, does it really change Russells trajectory due to a slow start and immaturity for his whole career? While the salary won't match but I'd put Melo in a deal for him as the center piece if I thought he could be mentored over the next two seasons. Again, salary won't work but Rolo/Melo for Hibbert/Russell and salary. HIbbert drops I believe. Lakes would need to send more salary. This puts Lakers a bit more current and we go longer out. Next season we get our pick and we likely are lottery.

Its sucks, but its a rebuild.

If they knew Embiid was healthy, they might consider it, but would LA want another kid with issues off the court?

Looks like Byron Scott won, wow. They treat the season like its one big party for Kobe, and they're surprised that this kid isnt taking things more seriously. Too bad a deal for Russell (without KP) is unlikely.

I can't find any report on the Lakers shopping Russell.
I can find many on Dwight.

They will get a nice reward for their futility if they draw pick 1-3.

Should have been a good learning experience for Russell, but he ended up as a sideshow for the Year of Kobe.

Only think I read about Russell is he is not focused in practice and likes to clown a bit.
Nothing about his night life except here.
I recall scouting reports last year pretty much very favorable about his character.

I think we're gonna see some big trades go down before the 18th deadline and unfortunately we'll be sitting back and watching teams like Boston and Orlando and Toronto and other eastern teams make big trades and make themselves better while we have nothing that anyone wants cause after Melo and KP and Rolo we don't have any other players that teams would want. At least nobody that could get us a significant player unless Phil pulls of a magic trick. I think Boston is gonna make a big trade with all those draft picks and young talent they have. They'll probably get D.Howard or some other big name player and maybe more.

Just repeating what Hahn said on the air...and he wasn't living in LA, the city of sin, last year.

Did not hear anything about OK4, either, and look at him..

We have Phil and Rambis on the team and you figure that they have some sources in the Laker organization...maybe Phil got his girl drunk and drilled her for some info.

Interesting that other NBA guys have not put out anything...makes me think that he got it from someone in the Knicks organization.

I still think the Knicks could get involved as a 3rd team in a deal. We're not in line for a big name but there could be any number of ways Phil can make a move that could help us now or for the future as a 3rd team. Seems like with so much parity there are gonna be a LOT of teams looking to make changes. That actually works in the Knicks favor IMO.

I got ya.

I like the idea of Phil finding a diamond in the rough that for what ever reason team is giving up on or needs JOSE for his veteran presence in a playoff scenario as a back up.

I did read Sixers open to trading either Noel or Oka4 but has to know Embiid is good to play.

Knicks will have an opportunity to improve. We need to aim for the following players: McLemore, MCW, JEFF GREEN, Teague, Monroe, etc. we can and should aim to improve the back court. Put AA, Jose, Lance, Seraphin, Williams, KO, RoLo on the table to see what we will get in return
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Scew Russell or Howard. If Im going after a rook with some issues from a dysfunctional environment or a big to play alongside Kthen Im taking aim at Okafor whose game can coexist with Porzingis. It would take an offer of Lopez who could provide some vet leadership to 76ers that is lacking and some . chips turned around from a Melo deal

Phil got to work Russell out and that always involved a sit down and long talk. Who knows what he thought of him.

Is Russell more of a combo guard, and not the PG some thought he was? Have not watched enough of him this year to know if the system we run might suit him better.

I think we have a pretty solid team in terms of guys who might set a good example for him, but NYC can be a dangerous place for some, and if Hahn's source is right, we already know that Russell has some issues off the court.

We are not going to be able to get him, but I would take a chance on him if we could.

This was the substance of my thread...Hahn said the Lakers are concerned about him and the LA night life, and are worried enough to consider trading him after little more than half the season. Read into this what you want.

Whether you believe Hahn's source is something else...I'm just a humble messenger.

I would welcome Russell here with open arms.
I still see a semblence of a very smart player( on the court) who would thrive in the right environment. If Derrick Williams could do it, so could he.

I'd trade Lopez (and whatever bench player they want for him) for Dwight, if Fegan gives an assurance that Dwight wants to stay on an annual paycut at 4-5 years. If Dwight wants the same money he is making right now at 5 years, or wants to get an even bigger max contract, pass. If he's interested in something in the 70 million/4 years range, I'd take the risk.

Dwight's 30. He's a better player than any Center we have, but he's on his way down. It'd be like Melo again. Only unlike Melo, Dwight has no love or loyalty or patience for NY. He's got a few years left to win a ring and needs to jump on a team that's close to it fast. Very similar to when NY signed Amare to a big contract. Got 2 good years rest were nothing. Dwight's a more complete player than Amare, but injuries at that age are very concerning.
