totally agree, there is absolutley nothing fun about losing. How would it look for the HARLEM Globe trotters do all that fancy stuff only to lose.

I'm sure Kings fans are over JOY with a talent like cousins, but would trade him in a minute for winning season

This isn't really accurate tho. We would under no circumstances trade KP just for a winning season!!! KP could be a key piece to a championship team. We've got some nice role players but need a starting quality PG and SG. This is really the only thing holding this team back from greater advancement. AA is not here to be the future SG, just as Jose is not the future PG.

This team is getting younger and really isn't locked, long term, into any older player except Melo. KP and the other under 30 players on the roster outnumber the old guys and so in essence it's a mostly younger team. They don't all have to be 20 years old for it to be a rebuild. No doubt this team is more likely to get younger soon.

Jose and Afflalo are off the team in a year. The Knicks outside of Melo would be young, but not so young that they can't win immediately. There's many ways to re-build. You don't always re-build with all rookies/sophmores. We have actually a few guys with 1 year or less NBA experience in our rotation. KP, Galloway and Grant. That's 3 of our top 9 guys in usage this year.

Lopez, DWill, Galloway, Grant, Thomas even, their best years are ahead of them. KP obviously as well. That's 6 guys we have who should have their best years ahead of them. I don't think it's always about having rookies/sophmores. Additionally in our case, we can't even lose to draft high. We have no pick this year. Trying to win as many games as possible with a few veterans has helped us look better to free agents and helped KP's, Galloway's and our young player's confidence. You can see many of these guys will come back next year even stronger and more confident.

Totally agree. This idea that we have to gut the team and only have kids isn't true. There's more than enough time to eventually add more young players to the mix. They don't have to be rookies tho. No rookie team ever wins a title. You have to wait years for them to get to that point. We have some good young talent and the goal is to find the guards we need for the present and future success of the team.

And assuming we are able to give reasonable contracts to the players I've mentioned, the Knicks will have capspace to sign players who are younger than Afflalo/Calderon to replace them as starters through free agency in 2016 and 2017.

So we are getting better in a few ways.

1- Internally. KP, Galloway, Grant. All 1 year or less in the NBA. We've got a pretty talented kid in Spain coming over maybe next year.
2- Through free agency. This past year we signed Lopez. I don't know what we can do this year, but even if we get 1 replacement for Afflalo/Calderon, who is in his prime, that's a pretty good improvement. 2 starters would just be fantastic.
3- We've left the window open that if an all-star like Westbrook or someone like that in 2017 wants to jump on the wagon, we can make it happen.

The keys will be that we need our internal improvement guys like Porzingis, Gallo and Grant to keep getting better and better at their current roles. Be able to do even more. And the other key is to be able to sign free agents to replace veterans like Afflalo/Calderon, but who are better than those 2, younger as well. It won't be easy. However we have the situation here to get really good. Biggest concern I have right now is the head coach. I'm not sure Rambis is the guy longterm we want. Good to close out this year. Good for KP. Good for getting in the Triangle reps. Next year we need to go hard after Luke Walton and also be open to bringing in some of the sets Luke/Kerr run in Golden State. Be open to running both the Triangle, and early high tempo offense. To do that we do need a much better ballhandling guard than Calderon, which will likely be our focus in free agency anyway.
